Scary Possible Scientific Proof That God Is Real

I was watching a video last night and a video titled "Scientific proof God is real" came up in the "Related" bar. So, I watched it and it brought up some deep, scary and mind-blowing ideas....

One of which is the idea of infinite time.

I'm going to write like this so it's a little easier to follow...

In the long run, people think time is infinite, that it will never end.

So, think of it as a long circle, no start nor finish.

Now, take scissors and cut it in one spot ONLY.

Now you have a strip of paper, not infinite anymore.

So, let's just pretend that both ends of the paper go on forever.

Infinite again.

Now, mark with a pen a single spot on the strip of paper and think of that line as the year 2012 and the rest of the paper strip as a timeline.

How would we get to "now"?

We can't. There is no beginning. The distance between "now" and the beginning of time is constantly expanding at a speed we can't comprehend...

I personally don't need scientific proof to 100% believe in God

 

This has literally nothing to do with the existence of God. If this has somehow strengthened your belief in God, it is because of a placebo effect. There is absolutely no reason to suggest God is necessary for any of this.

Time has a beginning, at least from the point of view of our universe: it began at the big bang. Anything that happened before the big bang is impossible to know (given current limitations). Whether or not time is infinite in the first place is another widely debated subject, which if untrue, would further make your argument pointless. Either way, I'm still not understanding where you're coming from. Your definition of infinity seems flawed, you're creating unnecessary limitations. To say that a beginning is necessary to reach a certain point of an infinite line makes no sense, because if you were unable to reach any point, doesn't that make the line finite? It seems as though you're viewing infinity only in terms that would make it an impossibility. Whoever formulated the original argument seems to have an inherent bias in favor of God and against infinity.

 

.... Just because our existence is (presumed by you to be) unexplainable, and god is unexplainable, does't mean the two are therefore inherently related.

 

why even worry about it, why would an almighty and powerful being really be worried that some living organisms arn't their personal cheerleader and flaunting that he actually exists, threads like this annoy me

 

Honestly, this has nothing to prove that god is real in any way. This can't even be debated about, because it's just your mind having the thoughts with no real logic to it.

 

Alright guys, points well taken. Just to clear one thing up, I'm athiest. So, even with this, I still don't believe... Anyways, I guess I don't fully understand, so here's the video (really shitty)

You got it backwards. Time and Space are linked into something called the Space-Time Continuum. Time and space are relative to the speed of the observer, the faster one goes the more space contracts and vice versa. It is odd to grasp as a theory. Also time isn't infinite, it is finite because space is finite.
