    Hey.

    I'd like to suggest something which I have not seen on Sythe.org, a Knowledge Base.

    This 'Knowledge Base' can potentially be located under two sections; either here or here.

    With a Knowledge Base, new users are easily able to navigate through information about any aspect regarding Sythe.org.

    At the current moment, most stickies located under 'Community General' located here can potentially be more active (with regards to viewing).

    Therefore, under the future 'Knowledge Base' section, information such as requiring of obtaining/acquiring a certain rank can be posted.

    This can include how a user can obtain a certain rank such as 'Highly Trusted' and certain staff ranks.

    Therefore, the majority of the stickied topics can either be moved or combined into one core topic located either in the Knowledge Base section or a redirection from once a user clicks the Knowledge Base link.

    However, that's simply a starting point of a potentially large idea of a Knowledge Base which can be flexibly expanded into many areas.

    The thread you created 3 days ago is basically similar to the stickied threads under Community General, except you've basically combined most of it into one topic and regarded it as Frequently Asked Questions.

    It is also in a section where the majority of Sythe members do not look, therefore gaining barely any views and rare attractions.

    However a Knowledge Base is not about FAQ's alone.

    It can be, and is, about much more.

    I have added this to the list of topics which can potentially be in the Knowledge Base.

    The sticky pretty much addresses all your concerns. It's in the Help and Requests section, so naturally, you would think users looking for help would check there and see it. It's also left open for people who may have any further questions that were not covered or have a suggestion of what should be added.

    I noticed.

    However, I do not think you understand.

    A Knowledge Base is completely different to a FAQ thread.

    Firstly, not many people decide to visit the said section (Help and Requests), let alone read/notice the stickies.

    This has already been proven by the Price Check stickies within each RuneScape account sub-section.

    Secondly, a Knowledge Base consists much more then the content you've provided in your FAQ thread.

    Your FAQ thread and actually none of the topics mentioned in OP cover 100% of the aspects with regards to ranks, etc.

    For example, if possible, how is a custom user title obtained?, etc.

    To the point, a Knowledge Base is more then frequently asked questions, it contains knowledge, everything detail about Sythe.org, etc.

    However thanks for your thread and I'm sure it will/has assisted many users.

    Thanks for your opinion.

    The sticky that John created is quite versatile. It answers the majority of questions posed by the community in a clear, brief manner. Knowledge bases can be exceedingly overwhelming or even impractical, especially when we have a sufficient source of information already (the FAQ).

    There's already a thread dedicated on FAQ's, which if this (a Knowledge Base) were to be implemented, it would be the new location of that particular thread (FAQ's).

    You'd be a suitable candidate in the assistance to staff of developing a Knowledge Base if it were to be implemented.

    I personally think a Knowledge Base is more practical then a cluster of stickied topics which are located all over the forums.

    A Knowledge Base would simply assist new members in seeking advice/answers to any relevant question they have of Sythe.org before, which is a suitable step before asking another member of Sythe for the correct information.

    1. Some people actually use sythe with others around; get a new sig.
    2. I'd like to make an amendment to this proposal. I suggest the Sythe FAQ thread (http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1199458) be added to the rules and donations forum (http://sythe.org/forumdisplay.php?f=220). The forum could from now on be called "Rules, Donations, and FAQs". Alternatively, it could be added as a forum in the community general category.
