Legitimately wanting to change my account

Hey guys, I wonder if you can help me. I've been pondering over changing my account for some time now, however after attempting to do so it states that I can't because of the fact I have previously created this account on my IP.

I spoke to an operator on LiveChat a few months ago and they mentioned using a proxy, although after trying over 15 they've all had 5+ members use them, meaning I get the same message but with differing usernames.

I merely want to change my account because I've been wanting to get more involved in Sythe's community, and also I simply don't like my name, although I'm fully aware name changes aren't available.

All help would be greatly appreciated.

You will either have to keep trying to find a proxy that works, or use a different computer. You could try using http://proxy.org/ which has thousands of proxies to choose from, and one is bound to work. However the option I recommend the most is using a friend or family member's computer that doesn't have any interest in making a sythe account, that way you don't have to worry about proxies and being involved with a ban evader.

 

Thanks, although I thought it was IP based, which would mean all of my family's computers would have the same IP. I'm not highly computer literate so I may be missing something.

I'll have a look into that site, although for the reason you mentioned I don't particularly fancy getting involved with proxies if there's an easier way around it.

It will take some time to find a working proxy, but there are some out there that will work. The only proxy I know that worked for one of my friends when he registered here was http://proxfree.com . And like x339 suggested, try using a friend/family's computer. And it's based on your computer's IP, not your network's IP.

And it's gonna be a big hit, sacrificing a Jan 2010 join date and 1.3K posts for a new account, but I wish you the best luck gaining that back. Hope to see you around the community with your new account.

 

By family member I mean like an aunt, uncle, cousin, grandma, etc. (one who doesn't live in the same household as you).

 

Well, I made this account on my laptop, and have recently purchased a desktop and it's still not letting me create a new account. :/ Thanks for your input though.

I'm not too worried about losing my posts/join date as I won't be trading on this new account, primarily here for the community more than anything so it won't be too bad on me.

Just keep searching, you'll find one eventually.
