Anyone know a lot about search engines?

Okay so today I was just curious of what other employers thought of me so I googled my name.
To my surprise, I found the second result on google of me making a comment on MySpace to my cousin, complaining about one of my bosses(ironic right? it HAD to be that comment). This was years ago might I add, it was pretty vulgar.

Well I got paranoid, deleted all the comments, then deleted my MySpace, and my cousin said he will probably delete his soon as well(I'm kinda lucky I still know the person I made comments to). My problem now is this, when I search my name the same thing keeps popping up as the second result, with the same comment, however when you click on the link now you can't find the comment because he set his profile to private & my account is deleted. But I would like for it to not even be a result.
How long does it take for this type of thing to go away? Is it permanent?

If you'd like to help me, pm me and I'll give you my name.

I believe google keeps a cache of the page for a while... maybe even forever. That's why you can always view the cache of a webpage even if its deleted/hidden.

Yeah this is true. Once it hits the internet there really isn't a way to remove it. I have heard though that webmasters can use the "google removal tool" to completely remove a page from google. But you would have to be the owner of that website to fully use this so I believe you are out of luck.

Post or PM the exact link that appears in the google search result and I'll see if I can remove it. I can access google webmasters right now and have the option to remove it. But in order for it to be removed it must have an error message like 404 or something otherwise it will be denied.

i do believe it will work since you deleted that comment.

It's indeed saved in the cache for a while.

If the pages become no longer available it will eventually dissapear out of all the search engines completely, however there's also a form (for google at least) you can submit to get it deleted faster.
