Winrar. How does it help you stop hijacking of your account or anything? It doesn't.

MSN. You can't call MSN unsafe because of stupid idiots who are going to accept anything. That is called common sense and can apply to things such as AIM or even email.

Harmful sites are obvious. If they are harmful, you should most likely avoid them. Your IP? What will someone do with that? DoS you? Haha.

The End, you say if you are educated enough, you don't need an antivirus. No matter how educated you are, no matter how much of a haxor you are, you will NEVER be able to prevent a virus without some sort of software. Say you bring your flash drive to school. It gets infected, but you never know because 1. The school's anti virus software sucks, and 2. Because you don't have an antivirus. So when you bring your flash drive home to edit your precious files, BOOM, you're infected. But you'll never know.

You can rar it, then scan it; instead of opening the infected file.

You didn't mention anything of the kind.

That won't be a good idea either, seeing as when you scan the rar, and a file inside is infected, it will just say that the rar is infected, nothing else.

i have a question about msn:

one day someone popped up and asked me if i wanted to create a phishing website as a fake runescape to get passwords for accounts. the person had an unknown email that msn could not detect. well i got suspicious and declined the offer. a few hours later, i log into my account (my main) and i see that my other account is logged in (my pure). then that person asks me for my bank pin and such. in the end, got the account back but lost 8m. anyway, can msn still be dangerous even if u dont open anything?

    No, it can't.

You may have opened a file previously by the same person and could have been taking damage for it now.
