Ordering my first ever build on Monday.

I'm starting with a 'barebones' kit and i'm set on that as I know the company does good work and it's no more expensive really that the part and they are all what I wanted.

    The Barebones kit: http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/barebones/bb-37704e.html

The main specifications of this barebones are: -

    # Intel Core i7 3770K Processor
    # 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 Memory
    # Novatech Black Tower Case
    # Novatech PowerStation Black Edition 750W PSU
    # Intel Z77 Express Chipset

For everything else i'm open to suggestions providing they are around the same price as the current parts.

    Hard Drives:

SSD: (Mainly for the OS) http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...nal/solidstate/upto128gb/cssd-f60gb3a-bk.html

Corsair Force Series 3 60GB SATA 6Gb/s SSD

    HDD: http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/harddrives-internal/sata500gbto1tb/wd1002faex.html

    Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 64MB Cache Hard Disk Drive SATA 6 Gb/s 126MB/s <4.2ms 7200rpm - OEM

    Graphics: http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...aphicscards/amdhd6770series/11189-01-20g.html

    SAPPHIRE AMD Radeon HD 6770 Vapor-X 1024MB GDDR5

    Monitor x2: http://www.ebuyer.com/282209-lg-e2251vr-bn-22-lcd-led-hdmi-monitor-e2251vr-bn

LG E2251VR-BN LCD LED 22" HDMI Monitor

    Total: £990.32

So yeah i've been trying to keep it around a grand not including the mouse/keyboard/speakers/optical drive as I don't worry about them to much.

What do you think of it, and would you change any of the parts?

Get a modular PSU, a better GPU (Nvidia) and maybe a better case.

Well it really all depends on what you are doing.
If you are looking to game, the 3770k is complete overkill, and the 3570k will be more than you will need, and a lot cheaper.

The gpu could also be alot better. It isn't a terrible GPU, but there is always room for improvement.

Everything else looks fine, I wouldn't change anything in there.
The PSU is fine, modular is a waste of money IMO, a little bit of messy wires never killed anyone, and I don't plan on spending extra money for aesthetics, but then again you might, so that is your call.

If you want to save a little bit, this ssd-

will do the same exact thing, at nearly identical speed.

Ordered my computer yesterday, I changed the graphics card in the end and I'll leave a link to it when I'm on my laptop and not phone.

Also picked mouse, keyboard and speakers etc.

Sounds good. You'll be assembling this yourself right? If so keep up updated, I would like to see it put together.

Yeah i'm building it myself but it's my first time, sort of why I chose the barebones package to begin with to make it a bit simpler.

These are the parts I have changed or not listed before:

    GPU: http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...ards/amdhd6870series/ax68701gbd5-pp2dhg2.html

    PowerColor AMD Radeon HD 6870 PCS+ 1024MB GDDR5

    Optical Drive: http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/opticaldrives/satadvdwriters/sh-s222bbbebe.html

    Samsung S222BB 22x DVD+/-RW SATA Black - OEM

    Mouse: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Razer-Death...ing/dp/B002RL9A2O/ref=pd_bxgy_computers_img_b

Razer Deathadder Re-Spawn 3500DPI Gaming Mouse

    Keyboard: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Sidewinder-X4-Keyboard-Layout/dp/B0037KLSS8/ref=pd_sim_computers_2

Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Keyboard (UK Layout)

Should all get here in the next day or two. Plan is to build it and get the OS onto the SSD and then find out how to connect it to the internet from my bedroom when my family desktop/router/phoneline etc is downstairs.
