For a loong time now I've been wanting a job at Shoppers and the manager liked me and wanted to give me a job as soon as one was available. Unfortunately before that, KFC gave me a job as a cashier. I've had 3 training shifts down there so far but Shoppers just called to give me the job. I can't have 2 jobs cause I'm still in school so my mom won't permit it.

I hate working at KFC but I love the people, they're kind and give me advice on anything. It'd be heartbreaking to just say I want to quit after all that but I want the job at Shoppers more than anything. What should I say to KFC to quit? I can't say the work is too stressful because KFC is almost right next to Shoppers and it would be hella awkward if they saw me working there.

Both are minimum wage ($10 an hour) so it's just a choice of where I want to work.

Which job would benifit you in the long run?
KFC- You like the job, but say you had a sick day or were late, would the managers put up with it?
Shoppers- The manager loves you, maybe he'd be more helpful as far as working around your sick days, and problems that will come along in life?

I would pick Shoppers personally. It sounds like it's a better job opportunity with more potential in the long run. If you decide to do this I would suggest telling KFC the truth, jus say something like, "I got this job while I was waiting for another job to come through, now that job came through, I like you guys, I like the company and the food, and I will definitely come eat here and chat with the staff, but this other job has more potential for me and it would help me more in the long run so I'm going to work for them."

I'm sure your manager would be understanding and wouldn't hold a grudge against you.

I hope this helps!

You don't need an excuse, simply tell them you have found a better job.
I can't imagine KFC is better.

It's KFC..if you're white they don't care..

Choose the other job..the manager likes you which gives you a nice leeway incase you sleep in "accidentally"...also you'll probably get a promotion much faster and get much more respect

Just tell the truth lol, say you love the people at kfc but you would rather work at shoppers. the truth is always the best answer, if they get mad at your for telling the truth then there ignorant

The best thing to choose is something you love doing, and if you'd love to work at Shopper, then do it. It's also a bonus to have a job with a great boss. Just tell KFC that you found a better job, they're 100% understand if they're as cool as you explained them to be.
