What do you think about smoking?

What do you think about smoking cigarettes (not weed) i smoke cigarettes pretty often and i think that they are perfectly fine.

 

It's not fine! Sorry, everytime I see somebody pull up there cigarrete I feel sad for that person. Girls smoking is a completely turn-off.

I see people at the age of 14 smoking everyday, It's kinda sad.
The most annoying thing is when I sit on the train station and some dude pulls out there ciggarete and starts smoking, It very awful to get that smoke inside of you.

 

Used to smoke for a while till I finally quit at 17. I've realized from my experience that it is not worth it and really is like a repellant for me around others. I've had huge problems while smoking and it would distract me from daily activities including body building which does not go hand in hand. Even though I am tempted at times to smoke as that craving of emptiness I get when I am stressed or mad turns back to cigarettes. It seems like it will never go away. Still haven't smoked for 3 years though and don't plan to at least for now. I have to also set a 'good' example since my family has alot of kids growing up just now and I will do just that. I had gotten my ex-best friend's sister into smoking at 12 so that is one reason why I've realized it can be a bad influence since alot of kids look up to me.

@Renmanen I actually agree lol. I never realized at first but when I do see a girl smoke it does turn me off, smells good though lol. So I can imagine how someone else feels when I am smoking in front of them.

tl;dr - The negatives outway the pros so no it's not fine for me.

 

I voted: It's not fine.

Realistically you may think it's "cool" or whatever but you are spending cash on slowly deteriorating your health and shortening your life span. Doesn't sound too cool to me really.

It's funny how many topics pop up in this section regarding smoking.

I voted that smoking is fine but in reality, smoking is not fine. I just voted that because I am a dirty smoker. >_<

 

It's disgusting and... Disgusting.

Complete turn off, no one wants to smell it, taste it, see it, smoke it.. If i'm out and someone blows smoke around me i'll go home just to brush my teeth and change clothes, its a disgusting habit.

*Gets you buzzed
*Can relieve some stress and chill you out
*Can make you feel cool
*Might taste good
*Fun to play with smoke

Cons
*Smells like crap
*Sticks to your clothes
*People might not want to come in contact with you
*Becomes a really bad habit
*Bad for your lungs

 

I don't see the point in smoking cigarettes. I mean, a light buzz? To me that doesn't seem like it's worth all the negatives

People have the freedom to ingest whatever they want. I hate super anti smoking people as much as radical christians.

When it comes down to smoking regular ciggarettes, I do it myself because I got addicted to it. Smoking ciggarettes is worse for you then smoking weed but then again you won't get all the bad stuff that you want from a cigarette, its hard to say really but I voted that its not fine, even though I do it myself.

 

Smoking is not fine, but like you said im also addicted and its really hard to quit once your on it

 

I've never much cared for smokers. But unless they're blowing it in my face (or I'm smelling it) I have no right to judge.

How do you consider them perfectly fine? Are you oblivious to all of the health issues that arise from smoking cigarettes? If you mean fine in regards to society's view on smokers, I could care less about smokers smoking as long as they don't smoke around me. Its a fact that second hand smoke kills.

There are much healthier things to smoke that aren't near as harmful and give you a much better feeling.

If I had my way they would just make smoking cigarettes illegal however that is unrealistic since too many people now are addicted and need them.

 

Voted no, health risks/expensive habit, I don't mind a cigar once and awhile though.

 

It's definitely a very bad habit and no one should do it, but everyone still should be able to do what they want if they enjoy something without others looking down on them. It really shouldn't bother you unless someone is blowing smoke in your face. Non-smokers shouldn't judge those who do and act like they're so much better just because they don't. I really can't stand when someone thinks people smoke to look cool and it instantly shows you don't know what the hell you're talking about. No one smokes to look cool except for maybe some dumb 12 year old trying way too hard to fit in. Smoking is either something you love or hate and you'll know as soon as you try it. If you don't like it, then it just isn't possible for you to understand why people do it, so don't assume you do. A lot of people aren't pack a day smokers either and if they are, then they choose to do so. It's really not easy to get addicted to them at all. I've been smoking for 9 years and I never have been. I only go through around a pack a week and I often go several days without having any. I never crave them when I'm sober. I simply smoke because I enjoy it. I don't get a buzz, but it helps me relax some, i like the taste and I just love the feeling it gives me when I'm smacked or drinking. It's hard to describe the sensation if you don't know what I'm talking about.
