Where Do You Guys Get Beats for your music?

Hey guys, firstly I know I'm new but im trying to make a musical machinima video game song channel.

Firstly:
I need to pick up some beats, and I'm not looking to make my own. I know 20dollarbeats.com is great but I dont really feel like paying $7 for a track that I don't even know im going to use. Where do you guys get free clips?

Secondly:
I need to hi-def record from my xbox. Suggestions? Currently I have a dazzle that I got for around ~$50.00 (Dazzle DVD Recorder Plus). Where can I get it to record in HD, im not seeing it have good quality.

My buddy makes the beats, i spit the versus.
Anything online can have huge copyright issues.
If you are trying to become famous in the rap game, you need your own producer.
Or produce yourself.

 

I am looking at producing myself but I want to test the waters per say first.

 

Well when you say test the waters do you mean you want to hear other beats and find your flavor?
Or do you mean you want a cheaper beat maker?

 

Just write 1 song, and see how it does, nothing fancy

 

I use many different beatmakers and most of them are from soundclick.com. Most of them have beats you can down load for free but they are for promotional use only. So my tip is get a few free beats, do some of your songs on them, put them on youtube or however your going to promote yourself, once you start making some money or have some extra and buy exclusive rights to a beat and put one of your better songs on it.

Depending on the type of hip-hop you do I can point you towards some of the sites I use, I visit about 10 different TALENTED beat producers.

 

If you are looking at making a high quality song you will definitely need to pay for a decent beat maker/editor. Free editors just don't cut it and often lower the quality of the audio. Good luck in your endeavors though, make sure to make a new thread showcasing your song once you've produced it.

Either download instrumentals to already made songs (for non-commercial use), or download FL Studio 10 and make your own.
