Join the New and Improved Offical Guide Verifiers

Hiya Guys, as my first action as one of the current OGV Leaders, Im going to open up applications since the team is lacking a few members, if you do not know what OGV is, it stands for 'Official Guide Verifiers', Users who have been trusted to Verify guides that users wish to sell on sythe.

Qualities we are looking for:

-Maturity
-Activity
-Responsible
-Trustworthy
-Community/market involved
-Some degree of RS knowledge

If you think you fit the bill, then please fill out the following form with honest, detailed responses.

Fill that out and post it here. After a few days Myself and other Active OGV's will go through the applications and see what we think. For now we are looking for 1-3 OGVs to add to the team.


Now you may be asking what has changed? Well there's been a number of internal and external difference with the operation of the ogv and the rewards.

Differences externally for Non Guide verifiers:

• Guide sales wide announcement for people's guides who are deemed worthy of verification.
• Guide mentioned in Sythemonthly.
• Ability to have your guide with the title [Verified] in both the unverified and verified section.
• More to come.

Difference externally for OGV members:

• OGV's now can request your guide to be verified if a number of complaints occurs in a row.
• OGV's can require a person to verify their guide if a substantial number of complaints occur. This is for only severe case and is usually accompanied with a locked sales thread.

Difference internally for operations of OGV members:

• A new activity measurement system (similar to modlogs, but for OGV members)
• 3 day maximum for voting, this means OGV's have 3 days to vote (if they vote afterwards, the points are only half).
• A better way of keeping track of points.
• Clearly presented that uniqueness (after if it works) is the most important factor when voting.
• A checklist when voting to help determine if the guide is worth it.

Difference internally for rewards of OGV members:

• OGV now have the opportunity to receive the OGV rank.
• The rank will only be given if they meet the required amount of points 2 months in a row
• The amount of points is unknown to everybody except for me, meaning everybody will constantly trying to be active.
• OGV will lose the rank once they leave, or don't meet the minimum activity requirements for the month (this is lower than the rank requirement).
• 2 months in a row of not meeting the quota will lead to a demotion.

How active are you on Sythe? I'm on every day, just I don't post much I only lurk around at the moment. This is mostly because I don't have any up and running services or anything to do at the moment.

Why do you think you are fit for the position? I have over 100 vouches, which shows that I am trustworthy, I'm easily accessible and easy to talk to.

Your level of Runescape knowledge/account I've played since I was about 7 or 8, I can't really remember, but I've basically grown up with Runescape and I know basically everything about it

How active are you on Sythe? I'm trying to improve my activity but I've gone through a lot of bad stuff lately. I read a lot of posts here, but I just don't post too often myself. I'm online pretty much every day. I need something to distract me from what happened lately and a job like this one would be ideal.
Are you willing to verify if necessary multiple guides a week? As many as I have to.
Why do you think you are fit for the position? I can be serious, mature and dedicated. I will do what I am asked. I can work hard. If I'm unavailabe for a period I will anounce it.
Anything else we should know about? I'm not market involved, nor am I an oldschool member with loads of posts but I hope that I will be given a chance and I guarantee you that you won't regret it.
Your level of Runescape knowledge/account: Pretty much everything besides from the very recent added content but I can look into that.

 

How active are you on Sythe? Pretty active, don't really post everywhere but I lurk.

Are you willing to verify if necessary multiple guides a week? Yeah for sure, don't have any major commitments.

Why do you think you are fit for the position? Don't have role on Sythe to focus on (e.g Gold shop, active MM thread) so I could dedicate my time to this. I'm online MSN majority of weeknights and am very easy to approach.

Anything else we should know about? GMT +10 if that matters.

Your level of Runescape knowledge/account? Been playing since 05'. I've had many accounts and have extensive knowledge of the game. Last time I checked I had an account around Lvl. 90

How active are you on Sythe?​

Generally, I'm very, very active on Sythe. I love Sythe, particularly its community. Because of this, I enjoy visiting this website which leads to a lot of activity all throughout the forums. Generally, I'm online Sythe for at least 2-3 hours a day during the schoolweek, rising up to 5-8 hours on some days, particularly weekends.

Are you willing to verify if necessary multiple guides a week? ​

Definitely. Considering it will take a lot of effort and reading and researching the guide thoroughly may take time, I'll be able to go through a bigger workload on weekends than on weekdays. I believe I could go through 1-2 guides a day easily.

Why do you think you are fit for the position? ​

Well, I'm pretty active. I love to help others out. I was a User Educator for almost a year (Cosrob can vouch for it.) During that time, I consistently fulfilled the Checklist to well above the acceptable requirement level. Through the User Education, I created a number of quality guides which were created to help the community. Other than the User Education, I was also a Staff Member for two terms. During my time on Staff, I still maintained a very high level of activity, always achieving more than the necessary amount of Modlogs and continuing to help others around the forums consistently.

Anything else we should know about? ​

I think I've summed almost everything up. My timezone might be a little handy as I have an Australian Timezone, which allows me to be online when most are unable. (Except Cosrob, of course. ) A link to over 110 vouches can be found here, which show a level of trust. I'm also very easy to work with, and believe that my questing partner Jack Goff will vouch for that. I'm also a current member of the new Community Development team.

I also have a strong level of RuneScape knowledge. I've played RuneScape on and off for over 7 years and have the 5 Year Veteran cape on my original cape to prove this. Currently, I generally quest and skill on my account. It's got members and is ready to go to verify most methods and guides. It has reasonably high skill levels and level 100 combat, which allows it to help out with most RuneScape Guide verifying needs.

 

How active are you on Sythe? Online pretty much all day to help people with their needs and such, it fulfills me, when people post in the feedback that it is a great site, it makes us all tickle and think that we do a good thing and we can do even more.

Are you willing to verify if necessary multiple guides a week? Yes, i will even do lots more than that, all day if needed to be, will have no problems verifying guides around 5-9 Hours daily.

Why do you think you are fit for the position? I am active, have a decent knowledge of stuff and know my way around in runescape, and will gladly help verify guides, I am a 105 USD donator and expanding my knowledge everyday.

Anything else we should know about? Possibly the only downside here, I don't play RS really anymore much and I'm not currently a member, so that may be a drawback. I do still have a good idea of how RS works though. Why do you think you are fit for the position? I have extensive Runescape knowledge so would be able to determine if guides could do what they claimed they can. I'm also good at googling for certain keywords to see if a guide is viral yet or not to determine if it meets the criteria that it is not available elsewhere for free.
Anything else we should know about? I'm in a New Zealand time zone (similar to Brendan) so him and I are in a niche as usually most of the regular members drop in activity around the time we are on at night times as it's very early in the morning for them (americans). I can also attest to how easy to work with Brendan is and how trustworthy he is, I'm sure he can do the same for me. I also have accumulated over 260 vouches which can be seen here and have nearly reached 3.7k posts. I've also accumulated probably 100 vouches from MMing and am very familiar with safe trading practices and preach them so that others can follow them e.g. I had the MMing sticky reformed my Malakadang here.
Your level of Runescape knowledge/account I've not really played seriously on Runescape for ages, my main is level 125. A look at the MoTM RuneScaper of the Month should attest to my knowledge. If that's not enough I had two pures and a skiller also and am very skilled at quests and minigames, this post shows my completed Questing & Barbarian Assault Orders and also I ran a Firecape/kilncape shop which is now closed due to RS clicking delay.

Why do you think you are fit for the position? Well, I'm very active on the internet as well as specifically in the markets. I'm a committed and dedicated person so you won't find me leaving any jobs unfinished without a reason/question. Finally, I wouldn't just be in it for the fact that I could say I'm an OGV. I'd really be doing it to be involved and give myself something to do that interests me.
Anything else we should know about? Nope, nothing really.

How active are you on Sythe? Very active, so far. Every morning I wake up a view all the latest posts and read the newest replies on the threads I'm subscribed too. My activity will only increase as I continue to use Sythe.

Are you willing to verify if necessary multiple guides a week? Absolutely

Why do you think you are fit for the position? Well, this is completely off topic, but I plan to major in Journalism in college, and I take pride on being grammatically correct and I have a professionalism about myself that I feel is very rare among people. I also feel that I may fit this position well mainly because I want to get involved in the Sythe community and this seems like the perfect way to help others while still accomplishing my goal.

Anything else we should know about? I always love to meet new people and I very rarely lose my temper over anything.

Your level of Runescape knowledge/account - I have played Runescape, along with Runescape private servers, for about five years I would say. My knowledge is forever-growing and I am always up-to-date with the latest updates - even if they are a bit crappy -

 

How active are you on Sythe?Fairly active, in two weeks or so I'll be even more active. If I'm on then it's for 6 hours normally but sometimes I'm away for a few days however in about two weeks I'll be on almost every day.

Why do you think you are fit for the position?Well I know what should go into a guide and which guides are worthy from experience as I have had a guide accepted by this team in the past.

Are you willing to verify if necessary multiple guides a week? Of course. I love the idea of reading through excellent plans for money-making etc. I, of course, fully understand that I wouldn't be at liberty to disclose the content of any guide (in detail) to anyone that isn't in the OGV team.

Why do you think you are fit for the position? I have a bit of experience in market trading (enough to understand how it works) but not enough to be heavily involved, thus meaning that it would take precedence over this. I believe that a bit of responsibility is great for me to become fully active in Sythe. I find that I read a lot of threads, yet never have anything to say about them. This could really help me reach out to the community a bit more, and involve myself again.

Anything else we should know about? I'm soon-to-be 16 years old. This could have a bearing upon which guides I can and can't be subject to verify.

Your level of Runescape knowledge/account? I have been playing for about 5 years - it pretty much coincides with my Sythe account creation, although, I didn't have much activity on Sythe... or RS, for that matter, until I was approx. 14. However, over the years, I have picked up a lot about how the game works, and some of the better ways to train skills, make money etc.

I have seen enough staking glitches etc. to know one when I see one - let's put it that way
