How to get music with the LimeWire network.

You don't need LimeWire for this. It is buggy.

DISCLAIMER:

Step 1:

Go to http://www.frostwire.com/ and click Download Now. You will be redirected to a website to download it. Click the download button again and run it if you are using IE. If you are using Firefox save it then open it. You can delete the install later.





Step 2:

Click next.





Step 3:

Click I Agree.





Step 4:


Click Next.





Step 5:

Click Next.




Step 6:

Uncheck all of the Ask toolbar installations. You simply don't need it and it is a waste of space. Then click Next. Click Yes.





Step 7:

Click finish.

FrostWire is free. You don't need a pro upgrade. FrostWire is also less buggy than LimeWire. FrostWire is also faster than limewire.

 

Does it have the same amount of music and users as LimeWire?

 

Yup same. It uses LimeWire's network.

 

Good guide, pretty straightforward though. It's the Gnutella network that Limewire uses if you didn't know. Add a disclaimer saying that piracy is bad and illegal.

Decent guide I guess... although you can just dl the pro version of lw off of lw, an even without it, just set you're system to dl at a faster speed than your dl speed and you will download at or around your peak unless you already got the best then it shouldn't matter because you can download a full movie within a minute or 2.

It seems laggier then Limewire? But that could be because I am playing RS too.

 

its not bad. But ironically i have a cracked version of limewire pro.

 

I just installed frostwire, and it looks exactly the same as limewire.

4/10 all you did was bring frostwire to my attention then point out the obvious.

 

Seeing as I don't use Frostwire, this is basically the same thing as Limewire correct? You dl music, files, etc., for free (Piracy)?

If so, disclaimer or not, you shoudn't be posting a guide about it.

If this isn't piracy (like I said I don't use Frostwire), then disregard what I said.

As for the guide itself though, it was alright. I think it would be better if you showed pics on how to USE FrostWire as opposed to how to dl and install it.

 

You're wrong, the guide isn't against the rules. LimeWire and FrostWire are both legal pieces of software. I have downloaded tonnes of non-copyrighted music. Get it right next time, you're a UE after all.

 

If its illegal, why do you have a guide on it? 2/10. You may also use the screen recorder method (check my threads for my guide on it).

It isn't illegal if you don't use it for piracy, which is what most people unfortunately do. Your screen recorder method is just as illegal as this if you use it to get copyrighted material.

I'm going to write a guide on how to understand copyright laws, since I've had people claiming some of my (legal) guides are illegal too.

The official Frostwire application has no viruses in it. If you're calling it slow, what are you comparing it to? Limewire is certainly no faster.
