I fell off my bed (dont ask) and landed on it and the screens cracked on the left hand side :(

i can still use it but will this affect my computer if i continue to use?

or should i hook it up to a monitor with HDMI?

    Hey man,

Sorry to hear about this :/. However, I don't think this'll affect the performance of your computer in any way, happened to me with my old laptop, worked perfectly fine afterwards as well.

You can hook it up to a monitor if you want to, if that floats your boat. You don't have to though.

Goodluck with whatever you choose though :)

Using it isn't going to damage it. If you want to replace it eBay usually has the cheapest prices like $40-$60. It's not difficult to fix. Pop of the circle things (if any) on the frame around the screen and take out the screws. Pry off the frame, and put the screen in the same way the broken one is.

You have no idea how difficult it can be, I'm assuming you don't have much experience in the electrical field, surely there are models that it is simple to replace the screens on, it all comes down to what he has and how much damage it took.

You'll be fine, nothing will happen to the rest of your hardware. Use it as you like.

actually, I'll interject and say I DO know how difficult it can be. In my eyes it's a fairly simple procedure to replace a laptop screen. MOST laptops are follow pretty much the same concept to do the job. But I've also opened up a lot of different laptops...so this surely makes a difference. For the average novice, I would recommend that they do their research first or ask someone who knows...but I wouldn't say it's impossible for a novice either (if they've got any common sense) regardless of the model of laptop.

Lol. I fixed at least 5 laptop screens before of different models. All you need is a screwdriver and like 45mins.
