Jagex won't accept my membership payment

So i ran out of membership on my main and was gunna re'up on my membership.

So I sign in, hit account upgrade, select pay by paypal, follow to paypal, accept to pay, then get to the jagex screen where it says "accept" I hit that and it says sorry payment failed.

So I emailed them and asked them why it wasnt accepting my paypal payment. Ive always used the same paypal account on this account and never had a problem.

All they could say was that I was failing security checkpoints and to be sure i was entering the correct information. wtf? lol So i asked them what checkpoints and what i could do to fix it, they said they cant tell me what im failing b/c that would make it easier for me to circumvent the security measures. WTF AGAIN!!!

The only thing i can think of is that i recently went to college and the IP I have now is different from the one i normally buy membership under... Could this be why its failing?

what can i do to fix this?

 

Maybe you need to verify your paypal account or to change its password/security questions.

 

I have a verified premier account. I wouldn't have been able to use my paypal to buy it members before if it wasn't verified.

 

Is your RS account email registered? I heard somewhere that your acc has to be email registered.

 

yup, registered to the same email address my paypal is linked to.

 

Use the same info, check is everything is okay with your Paypal account.

Nope, Ive only bought membership on my account with it. I bought a 1 month membership a month ago with no problems, so its a recent problem, i just can figure out what is different now.

 

Did they still charge you for the members?

 

have u gotten disputes on that paypal account? like have any unauthorized claims, item not received claims active on that account?

 

Have you had any funny charges that might have been illegitimate on the actual PayPal? It doesn't seem that it is something with Jagex, but rather with PayPal.

No? That is the problem.

Nope, my account is clean as a whistle. Thing is I can/am still making other transactions successfully so its not like my paypal is frozen or anything.

 

Could just be the verification between PayPal and Jagex?

I wouldn't worry about it unless you get something from PayPal.

Did you chargeback a membership before with your adress details or your paypal e-mail?

 

nope never. never done anything of the sort on my paypal at all.

Only thing I can think of is that my IP is different. Or Jagex is sketchy about me paying using the university internet?

 

Nope your ip adress won't matter at all, it has something to do with your paypal details / account.

 

EDIT: fuck it, i'll just pay by phone

 

I have always had this problem when trying to use PayPal, never figured it out. =/
