Jagex launcher/Rs2 exe client side info

hey, i'm quite fresh to all of this still, and just spitballing different ways jagex could catch cheaters. I know that nobody knows the exact formulas they use for detection etc. or if they do, it's not gonna be posted in public... but i was curious if someone with more know-how than me could tell me why everyone seems so confident that a proxy is enough to hide your real IP when used with jagex launcher/rs2client?

This isn't a dig at anyone or their opinions, i genuinely am just clueless. After reading through their privacy policy and realizing theyre as bad as google or FB, i have more than a little skepticism
