Gambling = Cheating

Since March, all player hosted gambling is against the rules, and a bannable offence. Currently, gambling threads are housed in the "Runescape Mini Games and Pking" subsection of Runescape general. Seeing how gambling is not and never was pking or a minigame, and is now cheating, can we move those threads to the Runescape Cheating section?

 

I don't really think moving it their would make much sense - yes, it is "cheating", but I would consider it a very soft form of cheating, compared to, for example, botting or bug abuse.

I would propose creating a new section for clans, in which any runescape clan could be included, even gambling ones

EDIT: To clarify, I don't support moving it to RuneScape Cheating, but I do support moving it elsewhere.

 

This is a stupid idea, people would just get confused and it has no real effect.

How would it be confusing? Gambling isn't pking, it's surely in a more confusing section at the moment.

 

A section for clans would be great. Not all clans are pking or mini-game based. There are also clans for skilling, social, gambling, etc.

 

Moving it where people are used to it already is the confusing part. We can't keep making sections though that won't have enough activity.

No support for this. Gambling isn't cheating, it's just breaking the rules.

 

Most of the market sections are against Jagex rules, so should we move gold sales to cheating?

I get the idea behind the suggestion, but I don't think it's necessary. By cheating we mean gaining an unfair advantage, i.e. use of programs/bots to level.

 

Why nit pick such a small issue? Its just semantics really...

It is better suited for the cheating section than the "pking/minigames" section... for those of you who say it's not the same as cheating, it definitely isn't the same as pking or minigames.

 

Cheating has roughly been encompassed as botting

Minigames/pking has roughly been encompassed as gambling (since it is an unofficial minigame and staking but then majority of the pking and staking etc within it is pictures WHICH actually does not belong there, it belongs in rs pictures/vids).


tl;dr i've suggested having that section's name changed to clarify (remove pking - more focus on gambling) but it is impossible to get change to happen on sythe so ya
