If you continually use punch, will changing it to kick give you an advantage because the character won't be expecting it?

I understand the def when you're getting hit. Its the switching attack styles to be more 'unpredictable' when the person is blocking is what I'm asking about

Using attack punch will give you +3 attack and kicking will give +3 strenght. Which of both is better? I'd say punching.

The Game will always expect it. It's just the difference between attack and strength. You might be lucky with a high hit, but you might also hit nothing. There's nothing the game doesn't 'expect'.

If you're switching, you should switch between attack (when you're hitting) and defense (when you're getting hit).

I suggest switching from Attack (When you hit) to Defense (When you're getting hit).

I Kick for strength and block for defense gives you a chance of your opponent of hitting zero's.

I've never box staked before, but I've noticed in countless Youtube vids where guys will switch attack styles right before every hit during the fight. I have always wondered whether this is actually effective or not, and it seems that people tend to have varying opinions on the matter. I have plans to turn my old main into a maxed boxer though, so I should probably learn this stuff now :p

I'm pretty sure that it has been proven (and possibly confirmed by Jagex) to have an effect. I'll let you know if I find that information again.

Punch is better in my opinion . I don't even change attack styles just on attack the whole time. Big stakes seem to change from attack to defence though so I'm guessing it does make some difference but I don't even bother because I only box 100m max at a time.

Kick (or any strenght based attack style) is good for high hits leading to KO's while PKing.

Attack/Defense styles are better in longer fights (2 maxed accs boxing).

Use kick if your desperate to make a comeback; not because the enemy doesn't expect it - this doesn't change a bit

Its not really about them "not expecting it", but i would suggest switching between attack and defence during tha fight, if you switch.

Kicking is good to throw in every now and then.

My rule is to switch between punch and block, and if you punch 3 times in a row and hit 0, switch to kick. Then switch back to punch after you kick 3 0s in a row, while still switch-hitting with the block

Thanks man :) If you ever stumble upon that information again, from a credible source of course, please toss me a PM! The only info I have really been able to gather is just people's opinions... some believe that it makes loads of difference, others don't think it has any effect at all. Whether it does or not, it seems like all the big stakers use that strategy now and I notice it in alot of videos of people making shitloads of GP.

Lol, its about the bonus you get from switching style to style
Switch to defend before you get hit, and punch or kick depending on your stats. if you have high attack and low str, kick is advantageous as it raises your STR bonus, and punch raises your attack.
These are the principle rules of box staking :O
