NEED URGENT HELP Please!

Alright guys I need urgent help. Currently I
m pretty much fucked and need some quick advice on what to do.

Basically I had to pay some fees off for school, and since I didn't know the cost of them, and neither did my mom, she wrote me a blank cheque (her signature already on it) to take to school, where I'd fill out how much I needed to pay then hand it to the school. Anyways, I ended up having to walk to school, and it was extremely windy and I had a lot of other papers with me and only jean pockets, and it turns out I somehow lost the cheque.

As you've figured out by now, this is pretty much a ciysis and my mom is also freaking the fuck out. She's going to be back in around an hour and for now I guess she's going to call the bank, but is there anything I can currently do?

Maybe talk to a nearby bank and explain the situation to them? If there aren't many banks around where you live and someone did decide to take advantage of this, if you informed the bank to be on the lookout for someone cashing a cheque in your mother's name they could probably do something about it, or at least inform you who cashed the cheque.

If you lost the cheque on the ground, if noone picks it up right away it would get tarnished pretty fast, to the point where a bank wouldn't even accept it because it would be very suspicious handing in a dirty cheque

 

thanks kmjt, i called our bank branch and the lady explained that it'd just cost us $13 to cancel the cheque.

anyways we got it all cancelled and shit, so everything's good
