Minimizing chances of being detected?

What things can I do to help ensure I don't get banned/rolled back?

I currently:

Babysit the bot.
Occasionally chat to people around me, in a CC and/or in private.
Play on unsigned. (apparently it helps?)
Bot 7-8 hours without breaks. (apparently no breaks is better?)
Play legit for an hour or so in between.

Is there anything here I should not do or anything else I can do to decrease chances of being caught?

Also: What are the ban rates at Tzhaars like these days?

 

Tzhaars are monitored but they arent too bad. maybe 6 hours a day there and youll be fine. No breaks and you are very careful. You should be fine.

Never take breaks...
6-8 hours is ok.... But mostly just keep your botting hours constant...
What I mean is: don't bot 20 hours one day, and 2 the next.... Or....


6 one day, 12 the next, 20 the next...

I'm not sure if this makes sense...

Yeah that makes sense, thanks. I was thinking it would be smart to bot for a day and break the next day to allow things to cool down so to speak but I guess not.

 

Why is it bad to take breaks?

 

Because the break system breaks exactly on the hour/minute. Not very human like.

 

You can actually set the breaks to whenever you want. For example at 136 mins, 252 mins, 378 mins or whatever.

 

It's still exact with no seconds in between and the default Nexus break handler has tendency to log off at inconvient times, which makes bots like PerfectFighter irritating to run with breaks. Besides that you should be good though, 6-8 is a pretty modest amount for botting and I'm pretty sure signed/unsigned doesn't matter.

 

You're taking the best precautions you can take as a botter. Keep it up and you shouldn't be banned / rolledback anytime soon.

 

1. Signed or unsigned, it doesn't affect your chances of being caught at all.

2. Do not use the break handlers that come with a bot, unless you're very intelligent, and can actually set them correctly. DO NOT USE THE RANDOM TIMES FEATURE. Some people think the more breaks the better, but think about it logically. Is a human really going to play for 47 minutes, break for 18 minutes, play for 28 minutes, break for 8 minutes, play for 65 minutes, break for 22 minutes, etc., and so on. The average human would play for several hours straight, then maybe take a break, and then they might play for several more hours. No real person would play, break, play, break, etc., all day long.

3. As long as you aren't 24/7ing it, or going for long days in a row, you're fine. You could easily do a 12 hour shift one day, 8 hours the next, 14 the one after that, etc. Just don't over do it. Again, just use logic, would a real human play like that? Even with that into account, Jagex doesn't even ban 90% of the people who do bot 24/7, so for the people who actually take breaks, we're quite safe.

 

Thanks for clearing a few things up, it's good to know I can start running my bot on signed and avoid those horrible load times. I'm just wondering if you know what the point of the unsigned option is if it doesn't lower ban rates?

I've dual logged on signed many times, what are the benefits of hiding your ip?

 

The best way for you to not get detected is to simply not bot.

Even if you baby sit your bot, people will still report you for the lulz.
