[HELP] How do I make my VB2k8 Program open and edit .ff files?

I'm trying to make a VB2008 Program that will open and edit a .ff File, but I have no idea how to go about it.

I think I may need to make my VB Program open up a program called ".FF Viewer", but not make the users see it.

What I need to do is make a program that
    1. Opens .ff files
    2. Opens sub-folders in .ff files
    3. Edits script in the .ff files by hitting buttons, e.g "CheckBox1", if ticked will enter a certain script into the file.
    4. Saves the file
If you've ever used .ff Viewer, you'll know that you can open up the files, sub-folders, etc, edit the script, etc, etc. But what I need to make is a program that enters the script by just ticking a box off on the program, without it showing the people that .ff Viewer is open.

So, how do I make it open .ff folders using .ff Viewer and without showing the .ff Viewer window, open sub-folders in there, make checkboxes, when ticked, edit the script and save?

Muchos Gracias to whoever tells me :)

You will first need to know how .ff files (whatever the hell they are) are set out. Also, wrong section.
