Is the return of corrupt items a possibility?

So I've been reading through the "Rejuvenate the wildy" Dev Blog and they mention the return of Revenants, with their return, do you guys think there's a possibility of the return of corrupt items, such as corrupt vesta's, etc? Even though corrupt weapons weren't release til towards the end of 2008. The most fun I had ever had with runescape was making 20 attack corrupt vesta's pures. There's nothing better than dropping 27s on obby maulers at 32 cb with a giant white sword =P

 

I'd be all for it... with the exception that they're also included as a drop on pvp worlds.

 

Is it a possibility? Yes. I really think you remove the 2007 aspect out of it when you start getting into vesta/corrupt. Coming from someone who quit around 2006-2007 (or stopped actively playing) I really don't know much about corrupt or vesta equipment so for my benefit I'd rather not have them in the game.

 

I honestly don't think they will. Everyone knows that's an option and they're dancing around it. They've been direct with everything else, saying what they believe is best and calling for opinions (and eventually votes). This, they just say "I wonder what we could make revenants drop.......!?!?!?!?", not "we would like to know your thoughts on introducing corrupt items back into the game" etcetc.

I'm kind of against it tbh, I find PKing more skillful when you have to time that venge k0 perfectly.

 

I kinda agree with this, although I really liked corrupt equipment for low level pking, I feel that if they continue to add post-2007 updates then the game will run into the same problems that ruined runescape in the first place. But who knows what they'll do, I mean I honestly didn't expect them to add GWD... I figured they'd try to keep it as old school as possible.

 

I would say the only ancient armour/weapons dropped by revenents should be the corrupt versions. No special attack. They will turn to dust in 20 minutes of usage. This will make low level tanking/staking fun (statius), no op spec (vls). The corrupt weapons themselves would still be pretty damn strong. The vls has, I think, the came stats as a chaotic longsword?

 

Great idea! This would be a sort of middle ground, not OP, not really taking anything away from the style of combat, but still adding another unique element to low level pking/staking, at a heavy price, of course.

 

I think that new items coming out would be things like a whip with maybe +10 slash attack or something with a "slight" edge on stats like that... not a whole new series of weapons. I personally wouldn't like the realease pk gear of that nature.
