Spirit Stone vs Madred's

I usually play jungle in soloQ, and especially with the changes to "Spirit of the ________" items, I build spirit stone on almost every champ, even some manaless like Riven. Getting tenacity, CDR, and a 20% damage buff is simply amazing for most champs.


IMO, this is what each item path brings...

SPIRIT STONE AND SPIRIT OF THE ________ ITEMS:
- Builds into 10% CDR, which for many junglers is 10% more spell DPS and sustain (shields or healing spells)
- Elder Wraith has good spellvamp, for the few champs who use spellvamp
- Elder Lizard has true damage pokes
- Ancient Golem offers a ton of HP and Tenacity
- With SotAG, you can get gank boots instead of dodge boots
- 20% flat damage increase means it scales with any stat--AD, AP, and ASP
- Have to buy wards if you want them for your jungler
- The MP5 is wasted on some junglers

MADREDS AND WRIGGLE'S:
- flat damage proc is good for early clears, a bit less useful lategame when your AA's can do 150-200 damage on their own
- madred's only source of sustain is lifesteal
- ward generation
- damage to monsters bonus only scales with ASP, so it falls off very fast lategame
- The gold for the lifesteal buildpath can be used to get a Cutlass Instead or halfway to a Thirster
- Need to buy dodge boots


My question is, is it really worth getting Madred's at all? Even on some manaless, I get a spirit stone. Riven, for example, benefits a lot from the CDR and % Damage increase on her spells. Should Anyone at all build Wriggles?

 

All of the spirit items are broken and will soon be nerfed. The gold values are so damn high its insane. I mean spirit of the elder lizard is basically viable on every AD champ in the game. Riot dun' goofed hard.

 

I prefer spirit stone but answer me this , what the hell are gank boots and dodge boots?

 

No one should be building wriggles at all. Most people just get the razor and just sell it mid game for another item. Currently, a lot of the support/tanky junglers are what make teams strong in fights. They usually just build spirit stone in the hand thing, I don't remember the names for each item.

 

'Spirit of the ________' are OP items, i always go this route. Madred's only helps with jungle clear, and not fights, therefore i usually go Elder Lizard for 45dmg and 10% CDR which is great.

So IMO. Spirit stone > Madreds

 

Gank boots - Boots of mobility (slang since they are commonly used by junglers to increase gank presence)
Dodge boots - Mercury's treads (tenacity is also called the "dodge" stat)


How about Lee Sin for Wriggle's? I see he has about an 67% wriggle buy-rate, and I assume it is higher as people max their build and sell it. The ward is good, and he doesn't use mana. Also, his 40% ASP passive really works with Wriggle's. Of any jungler, I see him as one of the only viable options for Wriggle's. Any thoughts?


Also, I hope Spirit of the _______ don't get nerfed They just got their prices dropped, which the jungle badly needed. Now, jungle is a game-changing role, rather than just a "somewhat better" option to a dual top lane. Jungle farm is much slower than in-lane farm, so the "OP" items are needed.

 

Spirit of the elder lizard es OP. I build it on every AD I play, aside vayne. Gon get nerfed pretty soon.

 

But aren't dodge boots Ninja Tabi? That's what they were called back in the day... I've never heard of mercs being called dodge boots.

Lizard elder getting -10 ad (already on PBE)

Madreds got a huge nerf changed to low damage per hit instead of 20% to deal huge damage useless imo now unless you are an Auto-atacker jungler (maybe Tryndy?)

Even on Auto attackers I prefer Spirit stone now just so I don't need mercs.
