The universe appears to be speeding up to us however many scientists now believe its just time dilation not actually speeding up.

There are some less accepted hypothesis as well some even believe we might be in a black hole and much of what we know about physics might not even be true for the rest of the universe.

I don't really know enough about this to explain it but that is just what scientists are accepting as a theory no one knows the truth.

Don't even get me started on this topic. It gets my blood flowing fast! Just the thought of space blows my mind. I love it, absolutely love it. I'd love to take school for astronomy. Which I am probably going to do here within the next year.

I know for a fact there is something else out there that lives. Don't have proof but we can NOT be the only ones. Only if you can grasp the concept of how space never ends.. theres no way we are the only people that live within space.

If they asked for volunteers to devote their life to spend it in space floating around in a space ship to find other life, I'd go. Lmao

The thing is human think they are big maybe we are but for ants and other animal we are so small compared to earth or what we can build. earth is small compared to the sun the sun is small compared to the milkyway the milkyway is small compared to the galaxy. we will never find the end of the galaxy who knows why we are here or if there is more then space... I think you shouldnt ask since no1 can give the answer and it gives a major headache

When i think about space and the outside world it makes me feel happy, but imagine the cost to transport people to another planet if EARTH eventually dies

Its crazy to imagine whats out there, who knows :D I hope one day we manage to figure out these things and travel to the edges of the universe. Although I doubt that will happen in our lifetimes :c

I remember reading somewhere that we can't really even know what is beyond these 'limits'. For example, we know that the sunlight take about 8 minutes 20 seconds to travel from the sun all the way over here. Now we have the same idea being able to 'see' the 'limits' of the universe. There's a specific point where we simply can't see further than that since the light travelling from there towards us takes longer than what earth has even existed for. I believe it was something along those words, I don't remember it precisely and i'm lazy to look for the source. You get the idea.

Is ''space'' really the only thing that exists?

The topic does rack my brain a bit. I'm of the opinion that the idea of the universe 'expanding' is simply a place holder for our lack of understanding as humans as to what 'existence' actually is; a baby could realize that there cannot be an expansion if there is nothing to expand into.

A bit off, but still relevant; I think that further out (like, waaaaaay further out), there may be different sets of rules and different forms of things that we could not rightfully fathom scientifically(though we could imagine), simply because the nature of existence where we are in the universe plays by it's own set of rules. Geez, there could be different life forms created of entirely different elements and different rules to the fabric of space and concepts related to gravity and no-gravity (yet inherently different), and all sorts of strange and bizarre things.

Observably so, it would make sense that space is a vacuum filled with vacuums, or should I say, filled-vacuums *avoid the vocabulary contradiction (like gravity in the middle of no gravity, or galaxies), and so perhaps on a larger scale, we exist in a plane with it's own set of rules, where there are other planes with their own sets of rules (warped and deformed by chemical reactions of vast proportions) (think: black hole).

    ^Though this is agreeable,

the idea that things need a beginning and end is not inherently a bias, but rather an observation.

It is not aggravated ignorance in the wake of such topics as these that usher notions of creation and destruction as the only legitimate explanation, but a mixture of innate intuition and a conscious understanding of reality.

That being said, all that we understand retains the attributes of creation and destruction. Even things we don't fully understand still retain those attributes; conceptual objects that rip through the fabric of the only existence we know STILL retain the attributes of creation and destruction (black holes).

It is an observable phenomenon that has constantly and consistently been implied in all the aspects of existence that we've come in contact with, whether physically or conceptually. Every single thing IN existence holds true to the concept, so I believe the question really becomes: what reason do we have to believe that the idea at hand is not OF existence, as well?

What if space is just overwriting a previous space? and that the big bang was caused by the collapse of a previous universe?
