Seriously i think it makes for a worse environment to allow an activity that is essentially deceiving people for monetary gain. Trading for rsgp or $ the same place people advertise for luring partners seems kinda dumb looking back on it.. people who are deceitful arent usually only deceitful in only one part of their life i think if you fuck people over in game you will fuck people over in forums. Condoning it is ridiculous ino illegal or not

I highly doubt that it would be considered "against the law." It is possible that scamming might be, like say if you were to go and hack somebody or just directly steal their items, although its extremely unlikely for the police to get involved or to get prosecuted in any way for doing this. After all, it is just a game. The authorities would probably laugh.

With luring, you are tricking somebody into dying and losing their items. Because you use an method that is programmed into the game to obtain the persons items (ex. combat, you kill them and they die), I don't think it would even be possible to prosecute you for luring somebody. Even though it is unethical, and a shitty thing to do to a person, it certainly is not illegal the same way that hacking somebody's account would be, as you are technically just killing them and taking their items, which is part of the game mechanics.

To be honest, even if you could get in legal trouble, how would the lured player ever track you down? If Jagex fails to take action against it, I doubt any reasonable court of law would.

it would be impossible to track a runescape player down, but i doubt that luring is even a real way of "scam"

I think anyone who gets fucked over on runescape should grow up and not care because it's a game.

I wouldnt assume scamming is against the law because it is in violation of jagex rules anyways
