Is KNOWINGLY buying sniped RS names against the rules?

This question has been floating around for awhile, but for some reason it has not been asked here. There are friends that ask me this question all the time and well i'm kind of wondering about it myself. Personally, I don't think it should be against the rules because realistically most of names aren't original and most have gone through some sort of sniping throughout the 10+ year mark that they have gone through. But would it be against the rules for a sythe member to knowingly buy a name that was just sniped off of the market?

 

As in if someone were in the transition of selling it and it gets sniped? I think it'd fall under one of those "sucks to suck" category lol - personally I don't really see a problem, it's always an underlying risk with name selling and whatnot. As for Jagex rules, I don't actually believe Jagex has ever said name selling is an offense? Could be wrong, but I remember a while back it was one of those things that fell into a gray area.

(E: I'm not a mod but yeah that's just my take on it >_>... heh)

Yeah I would ban for that. You're basically agreeing to be part of the scam.
