Is it weird to go on clubbing your own?

Long story short I've recently moved cities and am now living on my own. Sometimes I do go back to my old residence to go out with some friends but for some reason they often cancel their plans and go on doing other stuff, leaving me with false hopes. I often get quite hyped for the weekend and when our plans do continue I often have great fun. It just sucks to get hyped up for going out in the weekend when eventually it doesn't go on. Would it be weird to go on my own to the club instead? I'll know people who are there for sure, but it just would feel odd to go there on my own. I've often seen another guy there who goes on there own, walks around alone all the night, goes crazy for the entire night and then goes back home alone - I don't wanna be that guy.

 

So don't be that guy. Going alone gives you such much opportunity if you use it correctly. You don't have to do what you're friends are doing. You can do you.

If you're going to go alone, don't be the guy in the back who just sits around or walks around.

If you're not weird about it and sulk in the loneliness, no one's even going to notice. That's your chance to be outgoing, meet new people and do whatever the hell your heart desires. 10/10 would go alone, and have gone alone.

 

Not wierd at all, it's a great opportunity to socialize. I go clubbing on my own when my friends are not up for it, and I've made tons of friends doing it.

 

When I moved cities I also went clubbing on my own two times. After those two times I already met some people to hang out / club with and since that time I havent been clubbing on my own again.

 

Well I would be the one who’s around quietly with strangers but I would be talking to people I know which for sure will be some. The guy I’m referring to however didn’t talk or care about anyone and danced around wildly taking everyone’s attention.

 

I don't see why going alone would be a problem then. The hardest part would just be actually walking into the club alone. After that I think you'd be golden.

 

Hey man, you seem like you might a little shy. don't worry im the same way, but once you have the right amount of sauce in your system to loosen up just right, you'll be mingling making new friends and so much more lol, also don't be scared to tell the girls you came by yourself, that's a whole new level of confidence as long as your not weird about it

I feel when I go alone I care less about a "rejection" which is better. Go alone.

 

It's a tough question honestly. I feel women love an in depend ant guy, but they also like when a guy is in a pack. So yeah I'm not sure buddy

 

What's this all about the girls? Some guys do go clubbing just because they like to drink a few with friends and chatting up with old acquaintances. Sure going there and meeting up girls is great, but it's not the reason why I want to go there.

 

No @Wortel it's not as bad as you would think, and although I cannot say from experience I have ended up in night clubs on my own, or distanced from my original group I have been with many of times in my life too.

Sometimes you just find yourself wanting to have fun, sometimes you find that others don't want to, or quite simply have other plans and they wish not to get rid of those plans to play ball with you. If you want to go out for a few drinks, what's the difference between a night club or a bar in general or even a pub? other than the people that are there, you will see different faces in a night club each time, the other two maybe not.

If your main goal is to have a drink or two, chill out and enjoy some music or such then you're doing right to go out, you are not hurting anyone, or offending anyone at that point either, you are doing you and that isn't a bad thing.

If something happens with a girl, all the more better for you.

The best thing to do in this situation is to go out, approach a group of people and introduce yourself to everyone. Do this 3x and you now have 6 (or more) people that your acquainted with that you can have conversations with. If you suffer from approach anxiety. or aren't great with people your basically complete strangers with, Then get yourself doing something you like that's away from the club/bar social setting. This depends on what you like to do in real life.

For example if I moved to a new town I'd look at things like

• Going to the nearest Scuba Shop and signing up for some weekend dives
• Joining any mens basketball leagues
• Signing up for a gym/pool

After that making friends should just happen naturally

 

If you know people going anyway, why not host some pre-drinks and invite them over?

Otherwise, I don't think it's that big of a deal. I've never personally gone alone, but when everyone's a little tipsy it's pretty easy to meet new people. I normally chill in the smoking area for most the night anyway, chatting absolute shit to people I've never met, so it probably would change much hahaha.

If anything, give it a go and see how the night turns out. If you're faced with either a night in alone or trying something new. I'd always pick something new. Even if I'm really nervous about doing so. Life is hidden behind that feeling of nervousness!

 

I live like 30km away from them. While in some countries this is quite usual, in the Netherlands were stuff is close it isn't something you'll easily do with a bicycle. Reason for the bicycle is because I hate going out without being able to drink alcohol.

To be honest I'm not really in the need to meet new friends/people - I just wanna go to that particular club because I like it there and usually in there are people who I know from my previous job.

 

It is not weird at all. Who's to choose your happiness? if you feel like dancing the night away alone, so be it!

It's not that weird when I'm drunk I often lose my friends in the club/just start talking to strangers, nothing wrong with going out there and meeting new people.
