Illegal Drugs

A questionable subject, so let us begin.

Lets talking about, illegal drugs there are many; one for every occasion you could say. Do you think it's right, for them to be illegal or do you think they should be legal? Why? Why not? I'd really like to see what you guys have to say about the topic considering, the younger generation of people on this forum; I want to know what you guys/girls think about it. I'd like you to read what I have to say and evaluate on it, have your opinion, your say on things.

In my opinion, it depends all on the person, it depends on why you take it, it depends on will power and the place. Lets take a persons name and put it in a senario, let say Emily wants to take an illegal drug called Ecstasy. A common party drug that millions use every day/every night, in clubs everywhere. Emily drinks regulary like most typical girls when they've just turned 18 or 21. A guy or girl offers her an E pill for a few dollars, all her friends are doing it and she doesn't want to feel left out (Peer Pressure) - In a public place where nearly everyone is intoxicated and she is doing it for the wrong reasons. Given it was not forced, given it was in a decent place away from everyone else, given your will power was strong enough to say no and try something for a one off, given the dosage of things was right. This is for everything really, I just used E as an example as it's the most common.

What do you guys think?

 

First, I'd like to say that many drugs are illegal in the US, but not in other countries. Sythe.Org is worldwide, therefore some drugs may be illegal for one user, but not for another.

Illegal drugs are illegal for a reason - they have been proven to pose a health risk.

To determine whether a specific drug should remain illegal, you need to first name the drug.

 

You know the most harmful thing about drugs is what they're cut with and where they come from, Im talking all drugs.

 

Too broad a question.

In our current society, yes some of them do deserve to be illegal, due to the amount of weak-minded people ruining their lives yet sponging off healthcare.

In a more ideal society, without such a zealous government, nor socialistic shit, then all drugs dangerous or not should be legal. Just because you make something legal, doesn't mean it's easy to get. Conversely, making something illegal tends to make it easier to get in the drug business.

Unfortunately however, we do not live in such a society, we live a society where education is poor, socialism exists, and equality is misused. So therefore, yes the answer is, in the current society we live in.

 

I agree with malakadang about this being too broad of a question/subject to really state an accurate answer/opinion.

To comment specifically, yes, I think most if not all illegal drugs should stay illegal. Do you realize how many stupid things happen due to drinking in excess alone? Now mix that with legalized cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, things would be even worse.

There are legal substances which are far more dangerous than many illegal ones. Weed poses less risk to society than alcohol in my honest opinion, and should definitely be legal while tobacco is at least. Hell, it'd probably be a better alternative for those who want to get out of a nicotine addiction.

It depends on the substance really. Weed has carcinogens and does pose a mental health risk to some people, but then again, so does alcohol. You're at more risk of people screwing themselves over by huffing*, being completely honest.

* use of inhalants like butane or deodorant.

 

If you swear by illegal drugs then you're fucked in the head, and you should then know why it's illegal.

 

It's funny that the United States chooses what's legal and what's not. LSD and MDMA will land you in jail for a while but the actual drug that can kill you which is Benadryl is sold off the counter at Walmart.

 

So far out of all the posts, there are only two decent ones.

 

The only drugs I'd ever try are marijuana and shrooms. The marijuana I get is high grade, and if I ever try shrooms it would be ones I personally grow or know the grower. All natural, for me... anything made in a lab I would never try.

Marijuana should be legalized and taxed. It's much cheaper and safer than alcohol. And as always, if you're going to try a drug, do so in a safe and familiar environment.

 

Quite long time ago since the last time im using ilegal drug, what i think is that legality of something is depend you goverment.

What about all the pharmaceutical drugs that are out there that pose many health risks? You can get in a car crash, and you can't move your left leg anymore. Your doctor, to make money prescribes you with Oxycodone. There goes your addiction to mini-heroin. Oxycodone is approved by the government yet we have second thoughts about the legalization of cannabis.

I'm less likely to have a car accident while under the influence of cannabis than alcohol .


I think life is too short, and there's many things in your life you wont be able to enjoy, so live it up.

 

tbh i think it should all be legal. I dont think people should use them all but I think they should all be legal for only the simple reason of civil rights. I am not free if people are telling me what i can and cannot do. I am not a person. I am no better than a fucking dog in a cage at home that only does what its masters tell it to do.

 

by your logic we should all be free to kill each other, to steal, and to endanger others because freedom is more important than having boundaries

 

Most of you guys are saying it's to open and there are too many drugs so how about you cover them all, or are you guys to lazy to debate?

 

If you made all drugs legal, their would be less problems today.

 

I think it should be all or nothing.

If weed is illegal, then Tobacco and Alcohol should be as well.

If Ecstasy is illegal, then painkillers should be as well.

 

If you think about canibis, some types of it can cure cancer, and its used for almost anything to headachs, to severe pain. Illegalizing it dosnt make sence to me, if it's the biggest thing bringing in money in Cali, why dosnt the goverment see that and see how they could make money off it it? If Canibis was leagal world wide, there would be no more shady things about it, and there woudent be crime cuz the stoners would be too stoned to want to do anything haha

 

i understand why some drugs are illegal , but marijuana on the other hand should not be illegal , drinking beer causes more deaths and is worth then weed.
