Is FBI on Sythe?

Hey guys,

I'm hear to tell you a story that happened just a couple of minutes ago to one of my friend on Sythe.

So a friend of mine that is on Sythe for now 4 years, probably more, just received an e-mail from the FBI saying this:

''This is to officially inform you that it has come to our notice and we have
thoroughly investigated with the help of our Intelligence Monitoring Network
System that you are having an illegal Transaction with Impostors.
We the Federal Bureau Of Investigation want you to stop further communication with any Impostors claiming to be official, on internet gaming websites, and their "black-markets."

Anti-Terrorist and Monitory Crime Division.
Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Daniel McMullen (Special Agent in Charge)''

So I thought it was suspicious at the beginning but we then went further and looked if it was a pishing email and unfortunately, it wasn't.
We looked at everything correctly and it was definitely a real email from the FBI.

Now our question was, is the FBI really on Sythe?
I mean, I know that black-markets are illegal but at which point?

And did any of the mods get a similar e-mail? Because we don't get why, this friend that I'm talking about (Can't tell you who he is for privacy and security), got this e-mail and probably no one else...

It was a phishing email, most likely.. The FBI of all people would not spell 'Monetory' wrong.

Ignore it.

 

Its kind of like "is jagex on sythe?!?!" it all phising emails haha i got a email on [email protected] saying my rs acc was in danger of being banned funny thing was its never been used for a rs acc obvious phiser = delete

 

That email is terribly fake.

And Sythe isn't illegal. Jagex doesn't like us... but we're not trading drugs, guns, or providing terrorist groups with money, etc. (HHey, maybe that is our scammer problem!)

Ps.
Next time you make up an FBI email, at least have an English speaker proofread it.

you Grammer skills must need Very much to be Greatly improved as investigate thoroghly with grammer network.

 

Hmm...so IS sythe illegal? Considering that it's a blackmarket?
Can us, as users, potentially face fines or time? Or maybe just the admins?

Please fill me in?

 

Yeah. Not a real email. You can see the IP where it came from it you're curious.. Google how to do this.

well really we are selling items that we do not own, whoever it might be, Jagex, Blizzard etc... they all own what we are selling, so its still theft.

At which point were they no longer in possession of these "Items"?

If it was illegal this site would have been shutdown ages ago but we are borderline legal

 

When selling an item, the money has to go to who owns the product.
If you own part of something, it gets sold you are legally intitled to your share.

Now since these gaming companies own whats in these game, and we have no legal ownership over anything in the game.. if we sell the item, virtural or not, and we dont legally own it, we shouldn't be getting any of the funds.

What are you talking about? That's like having an email address and saying that anything that goes through the email is not yours.

Thus paypal is illegal because you don't own the virtual mailbox, so all the money that is sent to the paypal email should belong to paypal. >.>

@OP - I doubt that the FBI would contact someone via email that you are doing something illegal.

Technically paypal can freeze your funds for half a year which may not make it theirs, but during that time those funds are no longer yours.

Edit: i have had emails from Warner bro's a few years back tell me
To stop participating in downloading/sharing their unreleased movies they even threatened me with legal action, I wish I kept that email lol I was only around 15 or 16 at the time so I continued to download their stuff as I was too young to be charged haha.
