    Beard

I'm here to get some advices how to make my beard grow faster than the usual. I don't really want to hear the comment that I will have to wait for a few years or whatever that not helpful or irrelevant to my topic as I'm trying to get some advices that actually works.

I'd like to give some a bit of personal information. I am a male, and turning 17 in a couple days. So, my beard is really growing very, very slow. I usually shave my beard around once a month. Why do I want beard? Look, most of my friends who is over 18 years old, they invited me to their party and I'm stuck because of them going to a nightclub, the casino or whatever that must be over 18...

So, I'm here to trying to get some advices how to make beard grow faster...

    Many thanks,

Bad luck, because of genetics it will grow in it's own time, there is no magical hair growth lol

I know that, Asdasd123. Is there any medication that will grow the beard faster?

Shave every day or so instead of once a month. The more you shave an area the faster the hair in that area grows back over time.

Yeah, after I left the Army, I stopped shaving every morning and night, my beard grew out about a half a inch in the matter of a week.

As the two posters above me have said, shave more often and it will cause your beard to grow ever faster ;).

As others have said, shave often as it seems to increase the speed of regrowth and amount.

If there was a magic hair growth method, a lot of teenagers without beards would be doing it. All you can do is shave more often, but even then that won't make your bear grow stupidly fast. You're 17... Some people don't get beards untill they're 25+.

Shaving it does not make it grow back faster. Go to any of the beard forums and read, it is simply lopping off the top of dead hairs. Genetics is how your beard grows. It will decided, color, speed, and many other things. There are people who have had positive results with Rogain and other chemicals that are supposed to stimulate beard growth.

There really isn't much you can do other than just wait and be healthy. Take a multivitamin each day. I've heard Biotin in particular can help some with hair growth, but I'm not sure how affective it is. It's possible that Minoxidil or Rogaine might work some, but I don't think you should even bother. It could cause problems for you later on and it's better to just do it naturally, especially at your age. Most people at 17 can't grow a beard anyways. I know plenty of people in their twenties and thirties and barely have a hair on their face. Most people can't grow one until their mid-twenties and some never will be able to. It's all about genetics. I shaved about every day since I was 16 and I wasn't able to actually grow a beard until 18 or 19. Even then, I still had bald spots and never grew it out because I thought it wouldn't look right. My dad has even more bald spots than I do and hasn't ever had a beard in his life. When I was 20, I decided to grow it out and after a couple months, all the bald spots filled in and I've pretty much had a full beard ever since.

Shaving also doesn't help it grow back faster or thicker. That's only a myth. Depending on how much hair you have, it might actually be better to just not shave at all and let it fill in. Though I think it looks weird when people who can't grow much of anything don't shave and just have patches of hair all over their face. They look even younger in my opinion and they're better off just keeping it shaven. You should take a picture or give a description of your facial hair and I can tell you if you should shave regularly or just let it go.

Its all genetics. Hair growth is based on your own individual composition. So just stick with it.

This has been proven to be complete and total nonsense. It just seems that way because the hair comes back rough for a period of time, it doesnt thicken the facial hair or make it grow any faster at all, look into it.

OT Biotin is the only thing that works apparently as dimethyl said but it just helps facilitate hair growth, not make it grow from nothing so essentially if there is nothing to grow yet it wont do anything but make the hair on your head grow a little quicker lol. There is no magic beard growth, most 16 year olds shouldnt be growing beards anyways. Get a ID or wait man, a beard doesnt even make most teens look older honestly, especially if they cant grow a proper one .. it just makes them look like they have pubic hair on their face and 8/10 times and are trying so hard for a beard (usually the pube goatee).

Im 23 this year and still cant grow a full proper beard, theres a small spot on either cheek where it just doesnt connect right grows every where else lol. I wanted to rush my facial hair at one point but after looking into it nothing seemed like it would work and i decided to wait it out. I suggest waiting it out as long as you can... shaving every day/every other day or so sucks ass and is hell on alot of peoples skin (mine included) and i reiterate does NOT make it grow in faster, give it time.

Sorry ame, that was my psychic powers kicking in pre your post/brain fart lol

I think it mainly has to do with genetics?
I've always wanted to grow a rug that goes from side burns > along jawline > chin. So I started shaving there but nothing happened after a year :'( I'm 20 as well zzz

Haha, I didn't say anything... yet.

Just leave it grow. At the age of 17 I had little facial hair, and was always smooth as a babies arse on my face. Now aged 20 i've got a good beard going, which I started during Movember and just kept it trimmed and neat. Patience is the best method.
