    Falling out of love

I've been dating a girl for nearly seven months now after knowing her for five. We've always had a deep connection but we went our separate ways back in 2009. Come April of this year, we had a chance meeting and everything started anew. By June, through a lot of bullshit and other problems, we started dating.

On our six month anniversary, because neither of us thought we'd last this long, we went and saw something that held a significance to us- a concert of the band that caused us to talk again exactly on the day of our six month anniversary. I had been struggling with my feelings for this girl among stress from my three jobs, full-time schooling, and general lack of interest in life. I'd been flirting with girls a lot, even to the point of pushing my own limits. Multiple times, I'd set up casual sex encounters with classmates, people I'd met, even complete strangers - but I could never go through with it. Something always held me back.

How do I come to terms with the fact that I've stopped loving this girl? She's my best friend, my go-to person, my everything. But I know I don't feel that way anymore. We're close friends that have sex at best and I don't want her to go through that. She's been through too much already and I'm not going to be another source of problems for her. I already feel worse enough leading her on and I'm sure she's noticed my subtle changes in behaviors towards her and life in general.

Do you want her to know that? Or are you trying to convince yourself?

Probably be best to just be upfront and tell her in confidence that you want to remain best friends. A little out-dated but there really isn't anything else that can be done.

Hmmm easier said than done huh..... man you just have to let her know, thats what a best friend does, no pain no gain. She probably already feels the change between you two but dosent want to say anything because she might not know how you feel. Communication is the key to solving this problem, lets say a casual dinner and let her know. Something like this " Best friend you know id always be here for you and I love you so dearly, what we have is very special to be and I dont want to lose anything we have...... well I cant tell you everything to say but go from there. I just recently went through this so I know how tough it is man but you have to stick it out with the people you love if ya know where im comming from..... cheers I hope it helps.
