Actually, that whole "it's different for everyone so find your own way" argument can't work as a general rule. In order to prevent harm being done to the younger person, once there is a significant age difference you must step off (and you won't be able to see if this is happening). That is why there is law. That is why if they have sex he'll be put in jail.

I don't care what the law dictates. Law still dictates that homosexuals are to be put to death by capital punishment in many places. Law and morality are firmly separate spheres. If the fifteen year old wants to be in a relationship with a nineteen year old, she can make the choice, assuming that she is free from coercion and is rational.

Well it is fine and all I guess
Though consider this: if you guys have sex it is statutory rape, though I doubt you will be convicted considering your only 19
though if someone who didn't like you (her father perhaps?) pushed for it you could possibly be charged.

4 years is a big deal when you are your age, but when you hit the late 20's it is not as big of a deal.

I would stick with her, it doesn't matter whatsoever her age is. She'll be 16 soon anyway, at least she was being honest, you shouldn't punish honesty.

It's ultimately up to you, but people will judge, and probably look down on you, for deciding to stay with her. I personally stick to the 2 yr rule, but mainly for the maturity.

If the relationship is NOT based on her appearance and you don't mind the odd cradle-robbing joke then by all means stay with her.

Attempted suicide is also against the law, and there are fairly strict punishments in some places. It is also NOT illegal unless the girl takes it to the courts and claims she was forced into it.

It actually is illegal having sex with someone underage no matter if they were willing or not. That is what statutory rape is. Normal rape is when you "force" someone into sex.

If you were 24 and she was 20, I'd say it was the connection that mattered the most; age is nothing but a number; blah blah blah.

But she's barely more than a kid and you're an adult, so IMHO, you'd be better off leaving it alone.

Besides, the fact she lied to you in the first place is proof enough of her immaturity.

Is 4 years too large of an age difference?

I agree, fuck the law. I will make my own judgement on what is right & wrong, and I acknowledge the consiquences. My friend is going through a sitaution where his prospect-wife was caught having sex (she had let him duct tape her to a chair) and when they saw they thought he was raping her he ran away cause he was sketched and she didn\'t want to let her parents down since her religion requires abstinence so now he\'s going through court so that definitely went through my mind.

But the girl is very honest, and I trust her. She\'s not the kind of young girl who holds grudges and acts immature. She\'s bisexual and had sex first when she was 14 and many times since. We talked about fucking but I told her I wasn\'t sure about that yet lol, sofar only 3rd base I won\'t go past that eek. Honestly she would pass for an 18 yr old but unfortunately she\'s not.

Sofar I just asked her not to post our relationship on FB because of the age difference and she understood. We tell her peeps I\'m 17, and my peep\'s she\'s 17. I am still really confused about the situation though because it just kinda hurts my ego I guess. I\'m used to dating older women and find like 25-30 a really attractive age so this is weird for me.

...yes I\'m a troll but this post is one of my few serious ones actually ^_^
    thx 4 advicez.

I don't think 4 years age difference is too much, but I'd say it matters when she's 15. If you were like 23 and she was 19, then it'd be ok.

It's really your own opinion though, and what you feel is right and wrong.

The only thing I would worry about if I were you is the fact that guys have little to no self restraint when things "heat up" and usually the girl says "Let's not fuck right now" which is usually to be quite honest, the smart decision. If she is only fifteen and things "heat up", who's gonna say no?

If you really like her then stay with here. Who cares what other people think

I think she is of age to start a relationship, even though she might be immature.

Also, it's probably illegal so keep sex on the down low

    Good luck!

I wouldn't do it personally, but if you like her go for it. You should know, however, that you would put yourself at risk for being considered a sex offender if anything bad was to happen so it may not be worth it on your part.

Is 4 years too large of an age difference?

    Agreed.
If you really like her, and you like this girl for her personality and because she makes you feel/be a better person, hold on to her and it will all fall into place sooner or later.
But the responsibility is that she has to trust you and you have to trust her because you will be at college while shes in high school.

    Who said anything about sex.
I'm pretty sure he understands the concept that if he DOES have sex, he has a HIGH chance of going to jail.
Why do I say High? Because if she doesn't tell cause she likes him deeply, and they don't brag about it. I've known people who had sex with 15-16 year olds when they were 20. It depends on the risks you take and be ready to take responsibilty for your actions.
All I got from this was that he likes her and they kissed. I don't think he just wants to have sex with her and throw her away, by the sound of him asking us for personal help/opinions.

    Point Exactly.
    Law is broken EVERYDAY!
If you can get away with it, why not.
Otherwise, don't do it but if you BOTH want this relationship, then BOTH of you will have to make it work.

In the end it all comes down to your personal feelings for her and what you really want out of the relationship.

    In my personal opinion, you don't have to listen, but I would just say;

If you like this girl for who she is, and it's not all for sex and intimacy, then you can make it work. But if you are in it for sex, I would say don't waste her time and put your neck out on the line, and go find yourself another, older woman. So if this relationship is LEGIT, keep it and work on it. If not, don't take that risk and don't waste your and her time.

4 years of a difference isn't large if both parties are legal, considering she's 15, it's wrong, very, very wrong.
