I do not have time tonight to write out the full story in detail but I will break it down the best I possibly can. I can go into more detail tomorrow if needed.

1. Contacted Northy in August and we agreed I would purchase his ironman for 750$ total. We agreed I would pay 500$ up front and then 125$ in September and 125$ in November.

2. I paid 500$ and went first in the transaction. All went smoothly as he sent me login details and he transferred the account completely.

3. Next morning I woke up and account was locked. Northy thought it best to give me all recovery details and have me recover the account and state that I had moved from UK to USA where I currently live. This worked and account was unlocked with a successful recovery.

4. I used the account for a month with no issues whatsoever.

5. Made second payment of 125$ in September.

6. Account sat unused as I have been in the process of purchasing my first home. I went to login and the account was again locked. I tried the same recovery info as I had been given before but was denied.

7. I contacted Northy and he went over the recovery info I was submitting multiple times and made sure every detail was correct. Multiple recovery attempts were made by me over a span of days with no luck.

8. Northy has since stopped responding which I am surprised about due to his willingness to help previously.

At the end of the day I don't think it is fair that I paid 625$/750$ for an account that I can no longer use and the recovery info given from the OG owner is not working. I would prefer to not even have the account back as it seems to be flagged in some way making it difficult to use. I do not think that this was intentional on Northy's end and I do not think he had any negative interference in this that is why I put off making the report for a bit. I would like this resolved in some way or another. I also do not include much of the discord convo as most of it has Northy's personal information and I do not want to leak it. I would be willing to screenshare the whole conversation with any staff or send pictures directly to them so I do not DOX Northy. Thank you!

 

Small update

On the original selling thread for the account Northy has a TOS listed which states:
" 1. I am the original owner & no one else has ever had access to the account.
2. For 12 months after sale, if the account is recovered or becomes locked and I'm unable to recover it, I guarantee a 100% refund of the purchase price during this time period assuming the account is not banned. This only applies to the first time an account is locked or recovered.
3. I will always try and help you recover the account if needed even after the 12 month period to the best of my ability.
4. I am not responsible for any bans/hacks/mutes during or after the sale.
5. Warranty is void if you decide to sell the account. "

Now this was never discussed when I purchased so I am not sure if it still counts for anything but it is there.

I can confirm all of the OP's statements are an accurate representation of what has happened so far with the account. He has omitted a few parts, however.

I have been attempting to help him recover the account since he has 'moved to his new home', which is 15 minutes away from the IP he bought the account from me from. I also helped him to recover the account in the first instance, providing him with all relevant details required, as well as securing the account to his new IP.

OP asked me if I would buy the account back on 9/10/2021: Screenshot - 6d7cc798c52e4306ffdabcceccf7a075 - Gyazo to which I declined. No buyback policy was offered during initial purchase.

OP then messaged me when the final payment for the account was due on 2/11/2021: Screenshot - e07c8e2f4122f50faea9a3d6b0a20523 - Gyazo claiming he was trying to now sell the account on.

The recovery worked in swift time the first time in unlocking the account, if OP has moved (as a result of buying 'his first' property) shortly after buying the account in the first instance he would have known that he was due to change IP's in the coming weeks and informed me accordingly, at which point I would have advised he waited until he moved to the new IP as the account would likely be flagged and locked again.

OP may also be submitting fake recoveries to purposely have the account unlock declined, in the hope of getting a refund after he was unsuccessful in getting me to buy the account back.

Some of the above is speculative, however as OP states above in the TOS regarding the account sale : "2. For 12 months after sale, if the account is recovered or becomes locked and I'm unable to recover it, I guarantee a 100% refund of the purchase price during this time period assuming the account is not banned. This only applies to the first time an account is locked or recovered."

I would also note that OP has no reputation on Sythe, therefore nothing to lose.

I have gone beyond my TOS in attempting to help OP unlock the account for a second time, even providing further transaction references etc to attempt to unlock the account.

If anyone understands why an account could not be unlockable a second time with the same information that has been used before I'd be interested to hear. However I do not feel obligated to provide a refund as I have met the criteria of my TOS. I will continue to aid OP where I can to recover the account, though am unsure what further I can do given he has the relevant info that was used in the first place to unlock it, that now appears to no longer be working.

I'll make a short response. I respect Northy and he hasn't been rude to me so I won't make any speculations just facts.

The facts are as follows:
1. Northy did help me recover the account during the first lock. So I can only assume the info he gave me is correct if Jagex accepted it.

2. I did in fact post the account in a Facebook group to attempt to sell it as my time I am able to play was cut in half and is almost non-existent now.

3. I never sold the account. No one other than me ever had the account login at any point.

4. The recovery info I used was ONLY the information that Northy had confirmed was correct. I sent him screenshots of appeals before I submitted them and he confirmed info was correct.

5. If I had known I wasn't able to buy a new house and move IP's, I would have never purchased an account that would be flagged.

6. I have NEVER submitted any false recovery in an attempt to get a refund.

At the end of the day all I am doing is submitting the info that Northy gave me and I believe him to be true. If this info cannot unlock the account what am I supposed to do. I am willing to screenshare me logging into the account, the account being locked, and me entering the information that Northy gave me and confirmed as correct. I will screenshare to any staff member that wishes. I will submit the appeal with that info on screenshare.

 

Understood @Techie . If I recover the account from my IP however, once OP logs into it will it not just lock it again? I did suggest this to OP, however if we want Jagex to think the account belongs to OP then it doesn't make sense to recover it from my IP as this just looks like it has been hi-jacked by OP.

Also regarding TOS. My assumption was that when TOS is listed on the ad for the sale that is agreed upon once the buyer purchases the account? Otherwise there would be no point in listing the TOS in the first place. Are you saying that I have to explicitly ask the buyer if they agree to my TOS prior to sale?

Would welcome thoughts.

 

1. I will take the account back if he can recover it, I just asked for refund because I do not trust that the account is safe anymore and will cause major issues down the road. I will however be happy to take it back if he can unlock it.

2. I don't know how you do not understand that I am unable to recover the account from my IP as the recovery details are getting denied.

3. I never saw the TOS until I investigated further once I posted this report. I am fairly certain they must be explicitly asked to be agreed to directly with the customer.

 

I managed to recover the account myself on the first try.

I tried to login to the account and the account was disabled.

OP got the account permanently banned when it was in his control.

Appears he has been doing plenty of botting on it since the sale which was 7th September 2021

You'll notice the ban was a couple of days before he messaged me claiming it was 'locked'. Seems that once I denied a repurchase of the account OP simply decided to suicide bot it and then hope somehow I would refund him from the account being 'locked' from him likely logging into it and changing details from another IP.

Please remove my DNT and take whatever the necessary action is for @Styx

I did not bot on the account. Maybe because I use openosrs packet prayer plugins for some bosses but I never botted. I did not know the account was banned because when I went to login it just said it was locked. This is either my plugin use or it was hacked and someone botted on it. (unlikely due to it being an ironman). I would request that you would at least try to appeal the ban as hijacked.
