This guide will be covering topics such as how to read tablature, some simple songs to learn, and more!

How to Read Tablature:

Guitar tabs are written in lines, each one is a string on a guitar. The thickest string (low E) is the bottom line, and the thinnest string (high E) is the top line. Numbers are placed on the lines that represent which fret for you to play. A 0 means to play an open string (no fret.)
Example:

E---------------------
B---------------------
G---------------------
D----0----------------
A----2----------------
E---------------------

This means play the second fret on the A string, at the same time as playing an open D. Here's an example of how to read chords on tabs:

That example is a G chord.

Here are some symbols you may come across reading guitar tabs:

/ - Slide Up
\ - Slide Down
/n - Tremolo Bar Down
n/ - Tremolo Bar Up
T - Tap
H - Hammer-On
P - Pull-Off
[n] - Artificial Harmonic
B - Bend (String)
R - Release (String.)
~ - Vibrato
PM - Palm Muting
TP - Tremelo Picking

That's about all the basic symbols you'll come across.
