iPod Stuck on 'Recovery Mode' - Paying $5 for help

Alright, so my brother fucked up his ipod somehow and gave it to me. I was trying to figure out how to fix it, but couldn't find shit. Only thing i found out was that it was stuck in 'Recovery Mode' i guess lol

It is stuck at this screen

Whenever i go to itunes it says some shit like, your idevice could not be found because there is a passcode, please enter passcode to continue, but it doesn't give me the option to enter the passcode, PLUS i dont even know the passcode since it was my brother, and he is in jail now. Ill pay $5 if anyone knows how to fix this,

Couldn't you just plug it into your computer and format the entire thing then reinstall the software? or can you not do that with new iPods?

 

kill the battery, i mean kill it leave it on till battery is entirely dead then plug into pc see if it'll take a charge, or xbox/ps3 something

then whatever ipod you have google for its software (make sure you DONT DOWNLOAD A VIRUS)

if it does charge google how to put it in recovery mode because that isnt recovery mode i do believe and try to look for erase/format memory or something. google how to do it.

Put it in DFU mode then completely restore it, easiest way.
