    iPhone 7 *hissing* sound

Some iPhone 7 owners report hissing sounds

Several users have reported *hissing* sounds coming from the back of their iPhone 7 when under load. The exact cause of the problem has not been identified yet and most other users are not experiencing the same problem.

What do you guys think is the source of the problem and how do you guys think this will effect Apple and the iPhone 7?

I'd pin the sound on something along the lines of machinery wining (i.e. like coil wine on some gpus), but I don't know enough about the tech to really speculate all-that-much.

I'm doubting it's going to effect the iPhone all that much. I would argue a majority of iPhone users just continually get new iPhones and don't care to look for other phones; if anything, it's just more stress and Apple will offer a "come in and exchange your phone" if it's big enough. When the iPhone 6 came out, it bending was a huge deal, but the sales don't really show consumers caring.

Could be an hdd idk if they use a hard disk though but an hdd will ching and hiss especially if it's smaller the smaller the stroke of the hand the more sound it makes since it goes faster and since it's while loading it really wouldn't surprise me and if it is anything it'll probably just be a faulty HDD which really won't affect too much besides loading speeds

You're not going to find a HDD in a phone, SSD's are standard.

    They're fan-less

Then it's the ssd getting too much power from the battery causing it to hiss it just means it doesn't have a pwm circuit in the ssd and it's no problem

Bit of a wild deduction to make to be honest. SSD's generally don't run very hot to begin with. Besides that, SSD's aren't necessarily the way to go with phones to begin with, its usually Flash or eMMc modules that are put into the phones for their boot.

As for how this will influence apple, I kind of have to agree with Tmoe.

However, I don't see Apple having a large future on the market of laptops, Smartphones and tablets unless they bring their prices down and match the expectations of the consumer base that isn't part of their "Loyal" followers.

Personally, I'll never understand why someone would waste 650 USD on a phone that has specifications that compare to my 120 EUR Wileyfox Storm. (Quad Core CPU, 2GB Ram)

I mean, even my dad has a phone thats more powerfull then that, an Elephone P9000 (Octa Core CPU, 4GB Ram, the whole shebang, for only 190 USD including accessoires)

Sounds like the quality is whats being judged right in this forum though haha.

Can't argue with the fact that brand and popularity are what seems to keep people from doing some of their own research though.

once as project ana comes out most phone businesses are going to be struggling to innovate basically people who don't care about performance will stay unless they make modular phones as well

Anas only current released spec is 11.9 gb/s data transfer with stock parts and you can still upgrade it hopefully
