Ip Question

Mod Stevew informed me that my ip address was included in some system in which every account that logs in on my ip address gets perm muted. I emailed him trying to get one of my mains unmuted lol, he didn't quite give in. Anyway I was wondering if I got a really nice vpn if it would let me sneak past their system? Thanks

Well since you've already logged into your main on the flagged IP, even if you log into it on a new IP, it's still linked to the flagged one.

However, if you make a NEW account, on a NEW IP, then it will be not muted.
No one really likes to share the VPS/VPNs since the more the same one's are used, the more IPs on it get flagged for other people.

Also a VPN will make your entire computer use the VPN's internet, not just RS.
You'll need to run the VPN in a VM if you want to use it just for certain programs etc.

You could change your ISP, which would change your IP; or cancel your internet and then resubscribe if you like your current one. Ultimately though, any accounts that log in on the new IP that have also logged in on the previous IP at least once will cause the new IP to be flagged and you will have the same problem you're currently having. The only permanent fix would be to change your IP and never ever log into any accounts that have been on your old IP while you're on your new IP.

Example:

Current IP: 190.23.1.23, account 1 and account 2 have both logged in on this IP

New IP: 180.40.1.45, account 3 logged in to it, then account 2 logs in to it

New IP becomes flagged and is added to the same group as 190.23.1.23, meaning any accounts that touched either IP are all thrown into the same category.

 

You can't get yourself unmuted on the account. It'll just link you back to any previous IPs used to access the account.

 

Really curious as to what you did to get IP muted. I know that when 07 came out, accounts would be "perm muted" when logging in through many VPN's. Are the accounts muted even when you log in to those same accounts through a different IP?
