How should I expand my Pokemon collection?

Yo all, I've decided to expand my small collection, I have around 200 differnt cards from the original 1st generation printed in 1999,

Should I buy booster packs or boxes or whatever from some-where on the internet (Dw I won't buy fakes)

Or buy big random bundles from kids on eBay?
(would be cheaper I guess)

Or should I buy a few booster packs from each set and then with the remaining few I need go to eBay?

I have no idea how to do this, all recommendations appreciated

Can you still buy Pokémon cards in the shop where you live?

 

Collecting for fun, don't wanna spend fortunes though cause Mum will say stop wasting your work money blah blah and my mates will be like where the fuck'd it go?

So about £50/month probably, gonna order 10 Boundaries Crossed booster packs from eBay late for £25.50, (if anyone can find a better deal let me know)

 

Car boot sales, bundles etc will be the cheapest way of acquiring cards. I can see original booster packs being the more pricey road.

 

Amethyst is right, you'll have good fun looking around in places like car-boot sales and you can find some golden stuff around if you know where to look.

 

Nononononooo I meant I will buy bigger bundles of the base set, jungle fossil etc... and buy booster packs for the later cards.

I've thought of that buy I am extremely self cautious (idk what the word im looking for is) basically I would just hate seeing some-one I knew there at a car boot, and especially them seeing me buy Pokemon cards, my mums only just found out lol.
I was contemplating where to go tomorrow, but it'd probably be closed/really quiet due to ice on every single pathway and such, so I'll work up the courage and go next week maybe, lol.
