I didn't know selling duped gold was against the rules until I read this;

While obviously there's a difference in selling duped private server gold and duped rsgp, I noticed that upon googling 'soulsplit dupe sythe' every person who was involved in bming duped gp has been banned off sythe, not entirely sure of the reasoning.

Here he admits to duping, and while ss may be different than rs, Soulsplit has the annoying way of always finding out dupers/banning everyone who bms duped gp... They have systems to detect these kinds of things etc etc, and are a lot more high tech than any other server... So this guy basically sold/attempted to sell bans to all of his customers, as I remember seeing a topic on ss forums (the old ones, before the db leak) about how he got banned because his ign was the same as his sythe name (Christmass3).
