    Need Help asap (cc charging back)

    Alright i did something but i was buying a red partyhat for $300 through paypal with a credit card and we were on skype and the guy scammed me by not giving me the item. So i opened up a paypal dispute against, i sent the payment as goods.
    I am wondering if i should call the credit company, mastercard and tell them to chargeback the payment of $300 for internet fraud on a virtual item( do they cover virtual items) or should i say unauthorize payment? Which one would be better or like i did not recieve the item and not mention about the virtual item. Thanks! They told me to call 2-3 days since this happened to today so the transaction will list up.

    Call the credit company as soon as it appears with them.

    Thanks man, and should i say that im a victim of interent fraud and that i did not recieve my item and i also contacted the seller numerous times but he ended up deleting me off sythe, and not respondent on email. Should i mention its a virtual item. Thanks so much for responding on my thread, means alot bro <3

    Tell them that you defrauded online and would like to dispute a charge. You should be honest with them. Don't worry about admitting that you did initially authorize or that it was for virtual goods. They should be able to reverse it for you.

    Yea, they should reverse it for you if you explain what happened. Also $300 for a party hat was too good to be true right, you should have seen the red flags when they said that price. Hope it goes well mate, shame you did get scammed.

    update: called again, talked to a guy, he said he cant dispute it since i gave him the money through paypal and not like ebay? So then he said he would need to file it under fraud and close the credit card account and they will mail me back in 30 days for there finally resolution.

    Should i do that, but to be honest it is my sisters credit card, so should i tell her that to say it was an unauthorized payment when she calls, but would they come after me then? Please respond asap!

    i've had this problem, i rang pay-pal after a dispute and the person said if i was to cancel dispute they'd give the item this never happened.. and pay-pal (i called them) said they don't cover virtual goods only things in the post.


    he referred me to ring cc company, i rang and got money charged back to my account for not receiving the virtual goods, or alternatively you could say this was not you doing the transaction. :)

    p.s tell your sister , just be straight with her tell her the information and tell her to say she brought you a gift but you never received it she will get the money back however you could be a little cheeky and get her to say she didn't authorise the payment..

    I will be calling them tommorow, but mr sheep, when i say that she didnt authorize the payment, would she say that her brother used it? Would i be held liable?

    Yeah you would be. Having been on the opposite end of these credit card reversals, I know that what you have to do to win one is to just tell the credit card company that you paid for virtual goods and never received them. Don't lie, don't tell them that it was unauthorized. Just use the right terminology "virtual goods not received" and they should award it in your favor

    video ,i tried that but it might just have been the man, he said that it would be under fraud and you cant dispute it cause i sent the money to the seller and i didnt like use a site like ebay or something like that? Do you know what i mean video, il try to call again and speak with someone else.

    Are you calling Paypal or the credit card company? The credit card company is the one that should be able to help you, not paypal.

    Good Update: i called the credit card company again and they disputed the $300 payment, i just did what video said about i did not recieve my virtual items :DD and it worked, they gave me a transaction number to cal back in 30 days, they said they will temporary fund it back and make their final decision in 30-60 days, is there a good chance they will say yes?

    Been a while but heres update: I got an letter from them that the dispute is in process, later a person from the credit card company tried to call but i wasnt home, she said that she wants me to call her on monday and she gave me her number and she said that she was assigned to my case?

    What does this mean? What will she say on monday, im getting worried you think she will say my dispute will go through or she going to ask questions?? Need answer asap, all help is much appreicated
