Opening and closing a Paypal dispute: Solution to chargebacks?

So I was told that if a person sends you money on Paypal and opens a dispute and then closes it, they will not be able to dispute the transaction in the future (i.e. chargeback).

Does this actually work and do people use this method to prevent Paypal chargebacks? Also can you get flagged as "suspicious" on paypal by doing this, resulting in your account getting limited etc.

i think if they ring up paypal, it nullifies it if they say it was unauth

 

This used to work and was widely used about a year ago, if you mean the "Claim and Cancel" method. But it doesn't matter what is done, no matter what, chargebacks can occur, especially if the funds are CC-funded.

 

Do not confuse chargebacks with PayPal disputes. A chargeback is filed via Credit Card companies, so it doesn't matter if someone claims and cancels. Claiming and cancelling is also against PayPal policies and it will get you limited before any chargebacks come in, so don't do it.
