Instant Mute

Not sure if anyone has noticed or not, but the Player Mods of RS are now able to instantly mute players who are 'scamming' what this includes is, "Doubling money" "Flower game Xx your money" "Trimming all armor" or anything of that kind.. The very obvious.

Just wanted to see what people thought of this or if they have seen nor heard of it. I was at the GE today and happen to notice someone saying, "Doubling all money!!" and all the sudden a Pmod walked up behind the person and said "Watch who you say that around" then instantly muted the person. It made for a good laugh

Well that mod probably isnt a mod anymore. He cant just mute people for that. Doubling money, dice games and flower games fall under the trust trade category. Although doubling money this is 99% scam the other two are not. There are many legit flower and dice games held, and those are definitely not illegal or mutable. Trimming armor on the other hand is an obvious scam.

 

I got muted for 48 hours and given an infraction for doing the dice game in W2 LMFAO. Be aware.

 

Most likely because you were using autotalker and spamming. You dont get muted for just hosting a flower or dice game.

I always knew they had the ability to auto-mute for 48hrs. Which you can obviously appeal. But for doing such things as flower games etc...? I've seen mods do it.

 

I would complain to Jagex about the mod. Cause hosting flower/dice game is clearly not aginst rules. I have hosted many, I have seen mods hosting it.

 

It's true, if you host these games and a Mod walks by, say bye bye to talking until you appeal it/a J Mod reviews it.

Damn makes me want to be a P Mod for the luls. I'd trade a flower game host and if they log out/scam, good fight.

 

Yeah their ability has been around for years.

I got muted in 2007 by a player mod at Pest Control because i told some guy that a level 126 made purely from pest control with no other non combat stats was pretty damn nooby. The guy was like 'enjoy your mute, my mate is a p mod', and i got muted. I got unmuted like an hour later because obviously jagex noticed that my mute was completely bullshit.

 

Pmods are power hungry with little power to abuse. Theyre just regular players.

It's true, but he's telling us that if you advertise one of those flower games or whatever you can get muted even if you're legit.

 

I can see this happening. A JMod happened to be in W2 in the dice game spot and little did I know he was muting Dice game hosts. I got a 3 day mute for trying to host a legit Dice Game.

 

Bloody idiotic 12 year old scum's who get promoted to moderator position is also pure bullshit.
