Installing Back-up Files from Windows 7 to Vista

So, I tried out the Windows 7 beta. It was nice, but I couldn't run some programs that I needed, therefore I decided to go back to Vista. I made back-up DVDs of my system files, on a total of five discs.

I'm going back to Windows Vista Home Ultimate. I've tried using the back-up file programs to install all the files back into my computer, but it says it does not work. I've tried about all the options like using the programs on the computer and trying to boot to start up using the DVD.

Are there any more options to install my back-up files? This is fucking gay. In the end I could always manually extract the files in the back-up DVDs and put them back to their place, but that's 5 discs each holding 10-11 zipped back-up folders each including over 200mb of files.

If there are any more options, link me to a guide. And if my last resort IS manually extracting the files to their corresponding places, link me to a guide on that too, if it makes it easier and I may do it wrong.

    Thanks. :D
