Soothsayer by buckethed is amazing, even though the whole 9 minutes is one big solo.

I can award a solo AND breakdown to:
Truth of a Liar-August Burns Red(the "the truth hurts" breakdown followed by the solo)

Solos:
The solo/bridge in Victorious One by Norther, both the melodic part and the technical shred right before it.
Virtually any song by Wintersun goes to this, I'd say the one in Winter Madness is the most amazing.
Same goes for Bring Me The Horizon solos off the first album.

Breakdowns:
The huge breakdown in Faithless by MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE.

The breakdown at the end of the Guillotine (Part 1) by Escape the Fate is probably the best one in existence so far.

The final and second to last breakdowns in Backburner by August Burns Red.
(in reality any breakdown off the Messengers album is amazing)

 

Same exact favorites of mine. But add Eruption to the solo list.
