pardons

pardon system is dead.

staff doesn't even look at it and all pardons get rejected because nobody posts within 7 days.

just like disputes or recoveries it takes at least 14 days for a staff member to take a look at it.

suggestion:
Pardons need to be valid for 14 days instead of 7 days because staff members barely visit that section

 

There is a lot of staff members that do a lot for Sythe and therefore they are busy controlling many other parts of the community but I do agree pardons are definatley going unnoticed from what I've seen. So I think I propose that certain staff should be on certain things, obviously there are jobs tht are a lot more fun but the un fun jobs still need to be done, so I feel that staff should do specific tasks each week etc .

No support, don't want scammers back in the community at all - 7 days is enough.

 

You can't force a staff member to post on each thread in that section.

Many of the staff don't post in half the pardons because they didnt know or know of the individual asking for a pardon.

If you want more attention on your thread, you "banned individual" should go out of your way to get staff's attention. Well, thats what happened in my case.

I was persistent in a way, and personally asked different mods if they would be willing to read over my pardon.

& here we are today.

Was stated somewhere before that most staff view all pardons, just don't post on them unless they feel they have something to contribute. Posting nothing is better than posting NO - was said before.

Edit: But yes, It would be better if staff did post rather than abstaining, regardless of whether they support/don't.

 

No support if a staff member is not posting on the pardon then they clearly don't support it. You don't know if it has been viewed by a staff member or not and they chose not to post on it which is basically the same thing as saying no support.

if disputes take 3 weeks to complete by 1 staff member then do you really think pardons get looked at by at least 6 staff members within 7 days?

It's a known fact that staff don't post usually if they don't support. That's the way it is, and that's how it'll probably stay. They aren't forced to pardon anyone.

If staff feels a person deserves a pardon they will post. Forcing everyone to vote means you are forcing people who don't know anything about the person to vote.

Are you literally that stupid moes? Why would you want someone to vote on something they have no idea about? That means potentially letting back in a scammer or denying someone who is not. The fact of the matter is if staff feels someone should be pardoned they will support them. They shouldn't have done something to get banned in the first place and then they wouldn't need the pardon.

How do you know that? I have seen pardon's been accepted within the first 1-2 days because all the staff members know the person. That may be a sad fact but it is the truth so at least do some research before you start calling people out.

 

And your proof is where? If you look at some of the more known pardons you can see them actively posting. The reason some don't post is because they don't know the whole situation as sectionals and would be taking a blind guess on character.

Pushing it to 14 days won't solve anything, if anything it will just fill the forum with more empty pardons.

I suggested a while back globals+ should only make pardons visible and post the reports in a hidden post for sectionals to read before they vote. I'm pretty sure sectionals would be more inclined to vote if they actually knew what happened.

Most members of the staff which are new, DO NOT KNOW half the people being pardoned. So why would one speak on behalf of a user that they never ever heard of.

2 staff members in the past 5 minutes. There's rwmrs2/firez/n4n0 that are really active there, with dave moonglare etc still posting on their fair share. Tbh they're lucky they get a second chance at sythe, which is rich coming from me who's been banned for advertising/vading/owing/ddosing, and that's proof that mods check the pardon system, as I've been pardoned multiple times.
