    1. Make it in Photoshop.

    2. Size always depends on how much content you want in it. I usually start off the width being around 1100px wide. Then I start from the top and work my way down to the bottom adding on what I need.

    3. If you want it to be clickable its the same way as you'd do for a signature. Slice it up and link all the separate pics. http://www.sythe.org/graphics-resources-discussion/1472743-tutorial-how-slice-link-any-image.html

    4. C4D Is really only good for the header part of a thread design. It makes it stand out more and for the most part it's more visually appealing than none-3D text imo.

Need anything else? Just ask :)

i have photoshop cs6 but I was told that if you want to make a thread layout you need to go to google images and search skeleton .. I'm not sure what that meant but i thought it meant that i need to find a body for it

    example

I usually just look at my information first and see how I can organise it so that it's easy to follow and appealing at the same time. I start with the header usually and try to make it the focal of the layout. Then the body is next and I put all the buying/selling stuff here etc. Then you have to take into consideration what information you still want to add (ex. payment options, Skype etc.) and make sure you have room for it. It all comes down to the info and then creating a unique way of presenting it. There really isn't just one way of making thread layouts, there's so many different styles you can make.

You can make it in photoshop, some other programs are for different types of thread layouts like 3D, or you can do flat, etc.

the pieces are easy to make them clickable, you just split them up after your done and put them together in links. You can PM me.
