Explanation of the trade: Bought an account off him approximately 1 year ago. The account got 'recovered' today or last night and 1.6b 07 was stolen off the account.
How they scammed: Here's the story:
I have had this account for almost or for a full year now. The registered email on this account was and always has been set to HIS personal email to prevent things like this from happening. Whenever i need a password reset link, i can simply appeal a reset and he will send me the reset link so i can change the password.

Recently, i decided to turn this account into a (4-off) maxed main so i could do bigger stakes with this account. He was aware of this since i told him to change the password because the account would be going into training with a person that trains accounts for me. After it was finished. I requested a new password reset so the trainer would have no access to the account and so i could start staking on the account.

Recently i showed @Dieze pictures of some winnings because we talk alot trough skype about all sorts of stuff. So he knew i was making nice winnings on the account ( 1b+ winnings ). Right before this weekend i told him i wasn't going to stake alot because i was busy. I staked for around 2-3 hours Sunday night and left 1.5b on the account as i went to sleep. Why i think he recovered it and stole it?

1. He is the orignal owner of the account. It's basicly impossible for anyone else to hack it randomly after 1 year+. Had no troubles for a whole year up until the point he knows there could be alot of wealth on the account.

2. I had no access to changing the password or recovering it myself. As i'm not the original owner and the contact email for the account has been set to his at all times: Proof here: https://gyazo.com/ba1c5df9bab4a899d3c93372b8833f25 No need to confirm it his actually his email as he can reply and confirm it himself and also i didn't have to ask for a password reset if that was my or someone elses email.

3.I bought an account off @Dieze around 1 week ago which also was set to HIS email. The account got out of training this morning and yet again i asked for a password reset. I changed the password and when i found out the account with 1.5b was hacked. The password from the second account i bought didn't work anymore..? Yet the email was still set to his. Gyazo - b383ba2137cb293e495bbb3fa80dd715.png. And no i didn't mistype the password as he claimed. I changed it this morning to a password i use for most accounts. If you change a password it lets you type it twice to confirm both of them match up so no mistakes could be made.

4. Not sure about this one but when recovering an account which is actually yours. Jagex's system replies within 20-30 minutes. Yet he claims it can take up to 1-2 hours. I'm assuming the email that was set to the account was his.

I find it sketchy that also the second accounts password didnt work anymore, There was no wealth on it so there was no reason for him to change the email for that account aswell. My guesses is that he checked if there was any wealth on it as he could have changed the password easily because he owned the email on it. When he saw there was alot of wealth he decided to change the email aswell so he could throw it on 'being recovered'.

Other relevant explanation: All of this adding up makes it to obvious he took the wealth off the account. I can provide a screenshot of wealth being on the account and a friend confirm there was 1.6b on the account as i was screen sharing some stakes with him.

I can confirm the two accounts were on my email; im not disputing that - however i didnt take the wealth from the accounts or hack the accounts from Caporetto. I'll to each points individually.

Just to clarify; the way this report has been portrayed makes it sound like i was enquiring to see if he was staking to know if there was going to be gold on the accounts, but this isnt the case - i buy gold from caperetto quite regularly and he in fact trades me from the account that has presumably been hacked - my enquiry was to see if he had gold for sale and generally if he's been up or down at the time, as he can sometimes lose a lot before he does win.

To clarfiy on the points

1. It's not impossible, however i do not know how the account was taken as i didnt receive any emails confirming any email address changes or password changes - which lead me to the only thing i could think of which would be a recovery. However i am the original owner.

2. confirmed - i had to change the password each time for him as the email that was attached to the account was mine (explained in the next point).

3. We originally set the email to @Caporetto however the account kept getting locked due to account sharing/trading - i dont currently have access to the account to prove the message from jagex confirming this - i can maybe trawl back through the messages between me and caporetto to confirm this is the case but this was from almost a year ago but hopefully he can confirm this so i dont have to go looking for it.

4. I'm not sure where you have your info on this from, but a manual recovery generally takes 2-3 hours in my experiences - the only time it's near instant is when its denied - hopefully someone else can confirm this? Also i'm not sure what point you're trying to make, surely if i was trying to scam you i'd make both accounts look "hacked" so i couldnt be linked in any way?

For future reference if it comes to it regarding wealth on the acc, the report says 1.6b and 1.5b but at the time if discussing it was 1.4b



Since this has happened earlier today when i tried to recover the account - i've done multiple trades (before DNT was applied) where the other parties went first to me - this is not a scam quit and hopefully we can get it resolved soon. Since the DNT has been applied i've turned away several trades also (i can show the trades i've done in private and trades i've turned away if necessary)

Also i'd like to add, if i was trying to scam @Caporetto any scammer would try to get as much as possible out of the victim as they could


1) wealth on the accounts, as far as I was aware he wasn't staking this weekend, meaning as far as I knew there wasn't much on there. From speaking with him in the past i know he has multiple accounts (i believe 8-10+) and usually doesnt keep more than 2-3b apart from when he IS staking and has won (e.g. before he has sold)

2) each time he has sold me gold pretty much, he has had to xfer gold to the account before he can sell - which leads me to believe on average he doesnt have that amount of gold on there

In the event i was actually a scammer, and i was trying to "get away" and actually physically scam someone, surely i'd pick a better victim that has his actual account details on my email address, where the first likely suspect would be myself?

Or in contrast, if i was scamming him and trying to extract as much as i could from him - surely a better time would to be directly before he's going to sell me 2b+ gold, or even simply when i know he is actually actively staking?

None of this really adds up imho.

 

Changing the amount on the account is because at first i knew there was 1.4b in Platinum tokens on the account. Later when i logged in i added up all my gold i had on my other accounts and in total the lost wealth lies between 1.55-1.6b. I also mentioned this in our conversation earlier today. Just to clarify.

Dieze did mention the account was sold back to him before it was sold to me. When i bought it i was given no recovery information. Perhaps the person he sold it to before me did have that information.

 

Nah i dont give out the recovery information (to avoid circumstances like these), the only information they would have is age of the account (Via Hans ingame) and passwords they set

and in the case where they demand it, i dont offer the option to return the account back when they no longer want/need it (sell it back)

 

Ah alright well then there's absolutely no one else that could have recovered the account. As you are the only one with all the recovery information.

 

It was never mentioned before the account sale that the account itself was sold to someone else before selling it to me. He clears that out now after all of this happening.

 

I just want to clarify that Dieze didn't mention that he sold the account to someone else before today (after it was recovered), can he be asked to post proof of him selling the account before he sold it to me? Thanks.

This conversation is from a long time back when you still used your old skype. You asked me if i had any idea how the account got locked. Obviously i had no idea because i never knew the account was sold to someone else before selling it to me.

 

That doesnt show that i didnt tell you someone else played the account before you - thats merely me asking you if you was sharing it yourself as it got locked by jagex for account sharing

 

That's true. But yet again we both have no clue how it happend. The account being locked probably happend because it was sold to someone else before. Never had any lock issues after that incident.

I really hope what you just posted @veng wasn't the final decision. If an account renter kicks off people it's always obvious as same in this situation.

Never a recovery in a year time, and out of nowhere when there's wealth on it as Dieze could have known because he clearly seen me spam 'Whip 30-1000m' at the arena. The account gets recovered. And also the other accounts password got changed with Dieze's email still on it!

1+1 = 2. There's no other explanation for all this that happend.

 

@Caporetto - when i recover the account for you and give you the pass reset link can you confirm how you knew my recovery was sucessful? (before i actually did)

 

You had wealth plenty of times on that account without issue, and a recovery happens when i am not aware there is more gold on it than you keep as stock to start staking?

 

Yes that's easy. Simply press: Recover account' when trying to login and it shows what email the account is set to. I saw it changed to j******@h*****.com knowing that actually is your email.
