Improvements in Report a Scammer

You guys should start editing all the thread titles to simply the scammer's name, so that when you're trading, you don't have to check each thread individually to see if the guy you're trading with is a known scammer or not. Maybe even put their e-mail addresses in a bracket?

 

Support. I think this is a very helpful idea.
The thread titles are a little arbitrary and don't give much information unless you click and read; which might in some cases take too long.

 

Sounds good. I visit the "report a scammer" section all the time to check up on people i should be suspicious about. Doing this to the achives will be great and fast reference.

Well, considering the fact that the archives has 4,175 threads, I don't think even FireZ would be willing to do that...

I have thought recently about this as well. Using a format for thread titles such as the following:

Scam Report: FireZ

That would make my life 10x easier in the dispute forum as well.

 

Oh i dont mean all of it. Just recent ones, like the most recent 10 pages or so. I will not doubt FireZ cant do 4.1K threads tho ^.~

Looked at it, and it makes it look 100 times more organized and professional.

Maybe a sticky showing people how to title their posts could save you the trouble editing them everytime?

 

Support this idea and FireZ suggestion. Will look a lot cleaner, organized, and as OP said, easier to find information on scammers.

Or maybe a formatted thread title "Scam Report: (name here)"

 

I think once people see the whole forum like that they'll catch on.

 

Also, if you leave the titles like that wouldn't the threads come up in a search for the user's name?

That would make it even easier once the threads get archived or slide down a couple pages.

I've always included the player's unabridged name in the title of my scam reports. I usually put "Name - Offense", or at least "Name - Scam Report" in the title.

I think you are overestimating Sythe's general public. Make a global announcement and a sticky with the new rule?

It helps a lot to see if there are any existing scam reports or to check why a person was banned. It might get rid of some traffic in the "Where did ___ go?" thread, too.

 

Honestly, a global announcement is too far, an announcement in the RaSc section saying 'New Scammer Report Template - READ' then I think that'd be just as well.

Adding an option for you to see why a user is banned would take a lot of work, We honestly ban at least 10 users a day, adding a reason to this each time would become tedious work, especially if they're ban evaders.

Any big/well-known users are normally documented in the spam forum and on that thread anyway.

 

I think it's a great idea but there should really be strict rules or it won't make a difference.

 

Great idea , Has been added to the rules now , check FireZ global announcement.

 

The RaSc already has too many stickies... Any more would make it look flooded. I believe it's fine as it is. Most people might not notice the new sticky, and post before checking. Global announcements, on the other hand, come up at the top a lot of times when you're browsing the market. I'd say very few people would miss that.
