Let me start this conversation that I don't believe Hajox is a scammer, but we have a complex situation that needs intervention. I think he's a victim in this scenario as much as I am.

Hajox has bought HCIM's in the past from me, botted them and got them banned and I've normally helped with appeals unless they are permed. He asked for assistance with a perm appeal, which I stated I couldn't and on 7/6/2024 he asked me if I would take an offer for my TBow HCIM. This account is super unique for many reasons and catches a lot of eyes due to status/low level/high prayer and small combat. We came to an accepted offer of $2250 upfront and $250 in a few months later.

Account was disabled via Jagex Launcher. Being somewhat new to Jagex Launcher, I wasn't sure what this meant. I assumed he was banned again but I'm not certain. We had back and forth dialogue and I explained it's possible they thought account was stolen or it was manually checked due to being a somewhat known account in the HCIM community (high reddit post about it once).

I'm the only person with access to recovery info and the account was sold once in the past. I have a previous report about it where the user kept something linked when I bought it back, and he stole it back. I quickly recovered it as I was the only one with recovery info and it sat for months until it was bought by H.

I couldn't recover because I was on vacation at that time (actually was visiting @video) and I felt extremely bad because I wasn't sure what it all even meant. Was it stolen somehow? unlikely due to me being the only person with recovery info (I never release said info on any account sale for reasons like this).

I was pretty sure I wasn't liable in this situation, but I felt bad.. so I decided to give him a full refund since I felt I was possibly liable and had guilt about such a big purchase and him losing out on it.

My assumption was at worse I could just recover the account and keep it and I technically didn't lose anything. A few days ago, I finally was home and not busy with IRL and submitted a recovery..

Jagex responded in this way, furthering my assumption that Jagex did a manual review and found the account to be stolen. They confirmed OO was in possession (when I had it) and it changed hands a new buyer (Hajox).

It's a complex situation, and yes I did refund it. But my assumption was that said account was simply just needing a recovery and once I tried to recover said account, it was found that account was actually completely disabled entirely. I feel as though I'm the only loser in this situation, and I did nothing wrong on my end. Account was fully secured when resold and I am the only person with info. I also can't verify if this was intentionally done by Hajox if a ban happened or something else, although I think Hajok is honest and this isn't the case.

My assumption is Jagex manually reviewed the account, whether it was the original scammer who manually reported it or someone else, and they found it to be sold (as email shows) and disabled/removed it for that reason.

I'm just looking for direction moving forward and if I should be liable to have that money returned to me. I don't want a full refund from Hajok and would settle with a lesser number, but I do feel as though I shouldn't be help solely responsible here, or responsible at all.

I did want to add that I did get clarification from what actually happened today from a staff member.

Essentially they found the account was sold/bought (since its pretty high value rare account) and therefore they manually banned it.

 

Nothing really to add Wellness sums everything up pretty well. I basically woke up one day and couldn’t log into the launcher anymore, my immediate thought was that the account was recovered, after further discussions with Wellness we both came to the same conclusions he drew in this thread. Looks like any hope of the account resurfacing has been put to bed unfortunately.

Added all images and then removed due to his personal info being littered throughout (email pws ect). I think you guys can still see them, right?

The only agreement outside of TOS made was 2nd payment plan of $250 which wasn't ever received (but removed from refund amount once I realized).

I also said that I would refund if I found this was due to recovery, but I felt bad and refunded anyways because I figured I could get the account back via recovery info.. once I found out I couldn't... I made this thread and let him know that we needed to come to some sort of agreement.
