I was "Set-Up" into comiting an unintentional scam.

Hey, I was recently banned for selling a fake Runescape account called 'U' under the rare names section.

I was reported by the user 'Just' which is totally fair as the account was fake.

I am just appealing my ban as I was not intentionally trying to scam anyone, I was asked by someone on my Skype to sell the account for him as he was banned on Sythe, and he would vouch for me. So I willingly accepted.

Then 'Ned' aka 'Just' added me on Skype and was interested in the account.

At that moment I did not have any pictures or proof of the account, so I got sent one by the person that asked me to sell the account, and I just sent it to Ned oblivious to the fact that the screenshot was indeed fake.

After Ned had pointed this out to me I was surprised at first, but never once claimed that the picture was not fake as I wasn't sure.

Due to this, I realised what had then happened and I had been set-up.
I even told Ned that my intention was not to try and scam anyone, I was simply following instructions that had been given to me, but to my fault hadn't checked for insecurities.



At this point I offered to take the post down as I didn't want anyone else to get the wrong idea of what was going on.

I came back online today to find out that I was banned, which is fair enough in the sense that it was a fake account, but unfair in the sense of that I was conned into selling the account short of my knowledge.

All I am asking is that I am un-banned since it really wasn't my intention to try and scam anyone and evidently did try and re-consolidate my naivety.

Proof that someone actually asked him to sell the account. I'd like some more opinions before we decide what to do.

 

Unban w/ twc is OK with me

 

He did knowingly post for a banned member, but I think his intentions were good.

Unban with Twc sounds fair.

 

Unbanned, and twc given. You can dispute it once you've shown you are consistently a good trader.
