    Immortality.

    Would you take it?

Personally, I wouldn't. I'd hate existence. Oh sure, i'd love doing things and not being able to die, but surely after a million years your own sanity would easily be questioned. you'd be trapped in existence.

Personally I would not take immortality. I would eventually regret my decision and have no way out. I also agree that I don't much care for existence.

I couldn't take it, as it wouldn't be worth it. There are limits in life that are meant for living, and not repeating. Just living off of the experience.

The idea of immortality seems suffocating to me.
I would most definitely not take it.

If you were to give me an extra 100 years, I would definitely take it. Only if I age at a slower rate. I wouldn't want an extra 100 years in a retirement home.

I would take immortality. Why not? Living forever is my thing. Hopefully we can find out how the Hydra never age (can live forever if not killed.) and somehow use it for humans.

I would like to live forever without getting older.

I find it interesting that those who wouldn't because of the fear that they would be the last ones on earth choose not to. Why wouldn't you? Is it so hard to re-populate?

Oh, even with others about and all, I would just hate humanity on the whole. I would hate the imperfection of existence, and it's pretty horrid being stuck in a world like this, forever.

Humans weren't given the capabilities to function as immortals, we were meant to live and die.

At that said, I personally would decline the offer of immortality.

I do feel the lifespan of a human is too short, so I would gladly take a life extention, but I wouldn't take immortality for the reasons lifted above

I would just as long as I could end it whenever I wanted. The human body isn't really made to thrive past age 40, at which point our bodies begin to detriorate. Eternal youth sounds much better than say, eternally being an old, incapable man.

If I could stay in the shape of a 20-40 year old yes, I would.

If i'd say the same age/looks/etc as i am right now then yeah man i would, imagine what you could do if you weren't able to die/be killed, you could do ANYTHING not just be earth bound, you could visit other planets, know everything there is to know in this world, be a 1 man army lol, 1st thing i'd do is go to the bottom of the sea

I would take immortality without a second thought. It wouldn't want to be invincible though, but rather Elf-immortal in the sense that I could be hurt or killed but couldn't die of old age.

    I would never take Immortality-Never.
This world will be (One-day?) Complete chaos ,And I would hate too be stuck in L Immortality. Seeing war, after war,Disease after Disease,Terroist attack after Attack.

What happens when the sun goes out or a nuclear winter occurs and you are the only living thing left on earth. In pure blackness if the sun goes out, that is if the earth isn't engulfed when the sun is turned into a red giant. So you would be sitting in space for all eternity or until another life form comes and finds you.

    Sounds fun.

That would be just as bad, you would question what dying would be like and go even more insane!
I would take a 100,000 year life extension, possibly, because I knew it would end eventually, but nothing longer than that.

I wouldn't take it because in my opinion humans were meant to be born and die then go to heaven. I would personally love to go to heaven since I believe in god.

I believe it's safe to assume that after so many years in such a plagued existence, the concept of death war famine and hunger would barely seem like the type of thing to contribute a second thought to.

Even disregarding this, like many said, it would be the chance of a lifetime (Get it?) to be able to have the time to find out anything and everything. If there is forever, then there are no limits.

The only down side is the very subjective point that, well, what about friends? It's a very loose point, but I, personally, would love having a few choice friends stuck in this existence along with me.

Nonetheless, yes, I believe I would take it.

    Immortality.

What do you define immortality as?

You may be part of a religion who believe in reincarnation, therefore, you live forever.
And then there's the "Sci-fi" version of immortality.

    I, personally, would take it.

The fact of living forever is something that no one can really imagine. In a million years, you would be the only person who would ever remember the Earth as it is now. Some say that this would be a good thing, a way to keep our culture going. And yet a whole lot more say that history should be forgotten, not kept forever.
