When People Get Into Automobile Accidents..

So let's say that you accidentally hit somebody with your automobile or got hit by someone. What would the other deover's reaction be?

Would he be worried about your safety first?

In my country, people try to put the blame on you no matter what. If they bumped into you, they would tell you that it was your fault and that they did nothing wrong to minimalize their loss, even if you were the one who got hit.

Last time I got hit by a car while riding a motorcycle, the driver got out of his car and started shouting at me instead of asking if I were okay.

What generally happens in your countries?

 

Most people where I live mainly say "Oh my god I'm so sorry man I didn't see you etc etc" if it's there fault. If it's your fault, people don't say much and just politely ask for your insurance info, or get real pissed off. Truly depends on the person.

Though I've never hit anyone, only been in a few car accidents when I wasn't driving. Nothing serious.

 

It depends on where you live, all i know is if someone hit me on my bike, and started yelling at me, and it wasnt my fault, if i wasnt hurt, id probly go ballistic and end up getting in trouble... people are lame nowadays

 

when I was hit head on in my lane the driver initially tried to blame me but my first reaction when I got out was to see if he was ok. Some people are assholes and about a minute into him blaming me he realized how stupid he was being and started apologizing. This was moments before my dad came and started yelling at him. The accident happened about 20 seconds from my house.

 

In Chicago, you're in an accident most likely the other person will get out of the car and start yelling at you.

 

It would honestly depend on the person here in Australia. Most are rational and reasonable (Obviously you'd expect them to be a little bit upset, especially if it was a nice car.) You would still get the odd asshole who'll just hop out of the car and yell at you.

 

There really isn't really a set reaction, some people go ape shit and freak out, others are caring and understanding, I've seen both. Usually the person that is at fault is more caring and understanding if they realize that they are at fault.

 

Here in the UK it's really dependent on the person. Sometimes people are great and can't do enough to help you out and make things better. Others are a right pain in the arse. Someone drove into the back of me when we were going onto a roundabout the other day. They admitted fault right away and gave me all their details, they were good about it. On the other hand I know people who have had awful experiences with unhelpful people. My dad was sitting in his car outside a pub once and this pissed up woman drove straight into the side of him. She bullshitted her way out of it and claimed she'd forgotten her insurance details, but he managed to get her name and address. When he followed it up it turned out she had no insurance. He had to take her to the small claims court to get the money to fix his car. There's a pretty common scam over here too where someone will basically drive into the back of you and make out that it's your fault and that you've injured them just so they can get money off of your insurers. There's very little you can do if they know what they're doing, but the police have started to cotton on now and are cracking down on them.

 

In the UK you'll either get someone who wants to sue you or they'll be really apologetic, it depends if they're a good person or they just want money.

 

Around here people are pretty sincere about it when it's their fault. "I'm so sorry, are you okay? Is everybody alright?" You know, that kind of stuff. However if you're the one hit I'd get pretty angry.

One time I was talking around PB when some girl hit a girl. Her car was 100% fine but his car was wrecked. She was such an asshole to him though she wanted all his information and what not. It was just so obvious she was going to try to get more than what he actually hurt her for. You know?

 

About 2 years ago some wigger kid went the wrong way on a one way street. He side swiped me and i had my 1 year old niece in the car. His car smelt like weed and he was trying to back up to flee. I pulled him out his car and took his keys. An on looker called the cops and they found drugs and a gun. He went to jail and paid me $15,000.

 

It's really dependent on the person in the US. If it's their fault, most of the time they are really apologetic and try to help you and shit, but sometimes they are complete dicks and try to pin everything on you.

 

So based on what I've read, people usually get apologetic when it's their fault.
I do not remember a single automobile accident where the driver in fault got out of their fault and tell the person they hit that they were sorry, and ask if he or she's okay.

People here are pretty selfish, I guess. No matter what happens, they try to lessen the fault on their side as much as possible

I've never been in a car accident where it has been my fault, or that i've been driving in. From what i've seen though, people are pretty nice about it most of the time. Then again, there are dicks who will try and squeeze you for all the money you're worth. I guess it really comes down to how they're feeling that day.

My mom rear ended a guy on the highway who stopped to a park, because she turned her head to check her blind spot and switch lanes. He tried to sue her for permanent disability in his back, but her lawyer found him pitching at a softball game before the hearing. Some people are honestly money hungry, and will do whatever they can to benefit themselves.

 

Me and my parents had a bump in the car in London a few years back, apparently the area was pretty rough seeing as my dad took pictures of his car and their car of where the paint had scratched. No one was hurt and it was just a paint scratch, someone could still have sued us over that, though.
